The space Meticulously cleaned, thoughtfully stocked, and owner-operated, Isla de Dij is a private riverfront guesthouse designed for comfort, ease, and a memorable Tampa stay. Tucked along the Hillsborough River with street-side parking, contactless entry, and access to a large pool and dock, the setting feels peaceful and tucked away while still being conveniently close to downtown, the airport, cruise terminals, beaches, and parks. The guesthouse is completely private and efficiently designed, offering a cozy, well-appointed 300 sq. ft. retreat with an adjustable memory foam queen bed, full bath, dining nook, Fiber Internet with strong WiFi, 4k Smart TV, and a bedside charging station. The stocked kitchenette includes a refrigerator/freezer, convection microwave oven and air fryer, infrared cooktop, electric skillet, deep porcelain sink with filtered water and disposal, plus everything needed for dining in. Guests also have access to outdoor cooking options including a Weber grill and Big Green Egg. Fresh coffee, local beer, yogurt, breakfast bars, muffins, and orange juice are included to help you settle in and start your stay right. Outside, the experience is what sets Isla de Dij apart. The screened lanai surrounds the pool and overlooks the river, while the large dock offers multiple spaces to relax and take in the view, including covered seating, outdoor dining, a hammock beneath the palms, Adirondack chairs, and sun loungers. Just outside the guesthouse, a covered pergola patio with lounge seating, dining space, fan, and café lights creates another inviting spot to unwind. For guests who want to elevate their stay, additional fee-based services may be available, including kayak rentals, paddleboard rentals, fishing pole rentals, boat cruises, and personal airport or cruise port transfers. Many guests visit Tampa for work or their own off-property plans, while others choose to lean into the riverfront experience a little more. Isla de Dij is designed to accommodate both. Guest access Guests have full private access to the guesthouse and the covered pergola patio just outside your door, which is reserved exclusively for your use. You’re also welcome to enjoy the pool and riverfront dock areas between 8am and 10pm. These spaces are part of our home that we share with guests, and we do our best to provide a relaxed, respectful environment for everyone. We live in the main house on the property, so while we value your privacy, you may see us around the pool or dock from time to time. Our cat, Spar, lives on the back deck and under the pool lanai and loves a little attention. If you have severe allergies to cats, please keep this in mind when considering use of the pool area. For everyone’s safety and comfort, we ask that guests avoid bringing glass into the pool area and note that smoking is not permitted anywhere on the property. Other things to note For guests who want to make the most of the riverfront setting, we offer a few optional ways to elevate your stay. From the dock, you can experience the Hillsborough River up close—gliding past tropical landscapes, spotting manatees and dolphins, and taking in the character of old Florida from the water. Kayaks, paddleboards, and fishing gear are available for rent, making it easy to explore at your own pace. For a more relaxed experience, we also offer guided boat cruises, including sunset runs along the river and into downtown Tampa—an unforgettable way to see the city from the water.
