Bluegum Cottage is one of six cottages at King Parrot Cottages & Event Centre. Sleeping up to 8, it features 2 king bedrooms, a room with 2 singles and 2 bunks, 2 bathrooms, a full kitchen, and a cosy fireplace. Set high on our 195-acre Otways property, surrounded by National Park, guests also enjoy a communal pool, games room, and bushwalking tracks. Just 30 mins to Lorne, 1 hr to Geelong, and 2 hrs to Melbourne. The space Perched high on our 195-acre property with a sunny northerly aspect, Bluegum Cottage is a split-level retreat built from recycled polished timber. Comfortably accommodating up to 8 guests, it’s ideal for families or groups seeking a peaceful Otways escape. Inside, you’ll find 2 king bedrooms plus a third bedroom with 2 single beds and 2 bunks, along with 2 bathrooms on the upper level. The open-plan lounge and dining area flow into a fully equipped kitchen, making it easy to share meals together. A cosy fireplace adds warmth in winter, while outside a private garden offers a gas BBQ, outdoor seating, and a hammock — perfect for dining alfresco, relaxing with a book, or simply watching native birds and wildlife. Guests at Bluegum also enjoy access to King Parrot Cottages communal facilities, including a saltwater swimming pool, games room, small gym, and an infrared sauna ($35 per session for two, bookings required). Our private bushwalking tracks wind through the property, leading to a creek and waterfall, and there are plenty of opportunities to meet our friendly farm animals along the way — always a favourite for children and nature lovers. As with any bush property, snakes may occasionally be encountered, though they are rarely seen and generally avoid people. For peace of mind, a snake kit is available at reception if needed. Bluegum offers rustic charm with modern comforts, making it the perfect base to relax, reconnect, and explore the beauty of the Pennyroyal Valley, the Otways, and the nearby Great Ocean Road. Guests enjoy shared access to the following facilities: • A communal saltwater swimming pool • A games room with activities for all ages • A small gym • On site bush walking tracks for King Parrot Cottages guests only, including a creek and waterfall Laundry access: Washing machines are located in a shared, communal laundry area and are not inside individual cottages. Located approximately 200 meters away. King Parrot Cottages and Event Centre also offers an infrared sauna. Bookings and payment are made via our website ($35 per session for two people). Please note that general property photos included in the listing show shared facilities and wider property areas, not just the immediate surrounds of the cottage.
