Other things to note The price does not include the tourist tax required by local government authorities, which must be paid upon arrival (USD 4 per person per day). Compared to many other houses, hotels, and accommodations on the island, our house guarantees the availability of non-potable fresh water for all guests. The average guaranteed consumption is approximately 70 liters of water per person per day, including showers, kitchen use, toilets, and light cleaning. In Zanzibar, there is no public water supply system; therefore, water sourcing is challenging and requires careful use. Water is a precious resource and should be used responsibly. This consumption policy has been adopted in consideration of the local context and in order to ensure sufficient fresh water for all guests. For each stay at Kitambone House, the total guaranteed water consumption is calculated based on the number of guests. Any usage exceeding the allocated amount will be subject to an additional charge, which will be billed to the guests. In addition, the house is equipped with a small generator for emergency situations. On the island, power outages may occur frequently and are beyond our control. The generator can be used for essential needs and for a limited time, such as taking a shower or carrying out basic activities. This controlled use helps respect the environment and the local context while ensuring guests have minimum comfort and can manage their daily necessities.
