Description

Sleeps max 2 adults and 2 children. One or two young children on a sofa bed in the common/living/dining room). Access to the bathroom is only through the bedroom. Nestled among the rolling green hills of the famous Dorrigo plateau, the cabin is situated adjacent to Bielsdown Creek and has beautiful creek views and a bush aspect. It is a 2 minute drive to Dangar Falls (swimming hole), a 5 minute drive to town and a 7 minute drive to the World Heritage Rainforest centre. The space Cockatoo Cabin, part of the Dorrigo Waterfall Cabins group, is conveniently situated a few minutes drive from the Dorrigo township centre and only a few hundred metres downstream from the spectacular Dangar Falls. An 8-10 minute easy walk down a secure boardwalk takes you to the bottom. Guests have the entire cabin to themselves, access to a brand new, well equipped kitchen, as well as to a BBQ on a large private deck situated practically on top of Bielsdown Creek. Sit and enjoy the sights and sounds of running water and wildlife – including the distinctive local black cockatoo squawk. You simply won't find another place like this in Australia. Children MUST be supervised at all times. Guest access The cabin is a 30 metre walk from the allocated car park and down two sets of stairs. This cabin is NOT suitable for anyone with a physical impairment, the elderly or families with young children. Other things to note Dorrigo is a beautiful country town and the gateway to Dorrigo National Park (and Skywalk Lookout), which is part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area. Enjoy spectacular lookouts, enchanting waterfalls and exhilarating walks in the beautiful rainforest. Dorrigo is also a great base for exploring many splendid natural attractions as well as towns nearby, including Bellingen, a 25 minute drive away, famous for its boutiques, artisans and artists and Coffs Harbour, a 40 minute drive away, famous for its beaches, boat marina (Muttonbird Island) and the Big Banana.
