A beautiful 18th century listed barn, stylishly and sympathetically designed to provide spacious, imaginative and relaxed accommodation. With 4 en suite bedrooms sleeping 8/10, underfloor heating, a log burner and 2 large gardens, there is plenty of space for all. Up to 2 dogs welcome by prior arrangement - £30 per dog per week. Ideal for groups of family & friends - can sleep up to 16 with our other cottage, The Stable. Great views, walks, food & places of interest. The space Situated in the stunning Golden Valley, in the borderlands of England and Wales. It is a short drive to beautiful, quirky Hay on Wye, the cathedral city of Hereford, Abergavenny, famous for it's food festival and the majestic Brecon Beacons. We have four ensuite bedrooms plus a snug with a double sofa bed SLEEPING 8+2 GUESTS. Cothill Barn has been beautifully renovated by our fantastic builder, who has taken great care to reuse original materials throughout, which enhances the great character of the Barn. We have lovingly furnished it with antique pine furniture, quirky finds and handmade furnishings - even down to the loo roll holders! Each bedroom is provided with a TV, is en suite and, of course, full of individual touches… There are two enclosed gardens and lots of places to eat seat and eat to enjoy the amazing views. There is also a great undercover alfresco dining area, complete with fairy lights! When you arrive at Cothill Barn, it will always be welcoming for you. Little touches, such as vases of garden flowers, soft lighting and cosy, warm heating in the colder months; ingredients for hot drinks after a long journey and of course home made cakes, all make you feel instantly relaxed and at home. There will be a welcome selection of local food, drink and home made preserves and if our girls are willing, some fresh eggs from our ducks and hens. We provide store cupboard ingredients, soap, loo rolls and everything you need for the dishwasher and washing machine. Fluffy towels and all bedding are included - even for your dog! Details of lots of local walks are provided and the footpath runs from the door, with short walks or day long hikes, there is a walk to suit everyone. The area boasts lots of great places to eat and shops selling locally produced food and drink. The area is known for craft cider and even the local pub makes it's own gin! Tour their distillery for an afternoon of gin tasting! Guests often come back for 2nd visits as they don't find enough time to visit everywhere on their list, from open gardens, to farm based ice cream parlours, food festivals, antique fairs, small animal parks, river swimming, canoeing.......the list goes on! Of course, just enjoying the views, whilst sat in the peaceful garden or on the balcony, gather around the firepit and enjoy the star filled skies, with sheep, owls, red kites and buzzards for company may be all you want to do........ Guest access The whole house and two gardens, along with an orchard is exclusively for guests' use. A great games room on site for guests. Other things to note The house is set on a quiet working farm, which has sheep and poultry. At certain times of the year, such as lambing and shearing, guests who are interested, can be involved.
