The cottage was built on the site of the first salmon farm in the world in 1853 and is steeped in the unique history of the river and it world renowned salmon fishing. The views over the river Tay can be enjoyed from the rear garden with wildlife including beavers, otters, pine marten, red squirrels all frequent visitor's to the garden and surrounding area. The species of birds observed from the gardens include ospreys, peregrine falcons, merlins, jay's, woodpeckers and numerous more species are frequent visitor's.
