Description

Very Natural ! Escape the hustle and bustle of noisy crowds and immerse yourself in our secluded beachfront paradise. Nestled in nature, this serene retreat is perfect for those seeking tranquility. Experience breathtaking views from our stunning 4th-floor terrace, the ideal vantage point to soak in the beauty of the ocean. Enjoy a 100% off-the-grid experience, allowing you to disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature. NOT A LUX CONDO- Only for Nature Lovers The space Villa Costa Maya: 3rd Floor Penthouse Studio Check us out on G Maps to see just how secluded this off-grid paradise really is. No address, Just GPS coordinates! If you’re new to Mahahual, it’s the best way to plan your trip perfectly! The "Owner's Choice" Space This is where I stay when I’m home—the breeze and the views are unbeatable. It’s a studio-style layout with almost more windows than walls, giving you non-stop ocean views. Layout: Studio-type layout with a bed perfectly positioned between breezy windows, a living area, and a kitchen. The Bathroom: Features a custom-made bamboo door and a mosaic-tiled shower floor. Remote Work Ready: Includes two dedicated desk areas made from solar panels—perfect for the "work from home" crowd. Constant Improvement: We just added a new "ocean waves and sand" colored floor, new furniture, a kitchen island, and better under-bed storage for your bags. The Breeze: This high up, the cross-breeze is so strong you’ll rarely need a fan, and bugs are a rarity. Massive 3rd-Floor Balcony The Deck: The balcony spans nearly the entire width and length of the house. It’s one of the freshest, breeziest spots on the property. The Vantage Point: You have access to the 3rd and 4th-floor terraces. At 40 feet high, this is the highest vantage point for 80 miles until you hit Belize! (Responsible adults only—not for little kids). Nature: Jungle Meets Ocean The house is literally sandwiched between the Caribbean and the thick Mayan jungle. Sea Side: World-class snorkeling (the Mesoamerican Reef) is steps away. Expect turtles, mantas, and Jacks. Night snorkeling is a must for lobster spotting! Jungle Side: From your windows, watch tropical birds, monkeys, and iguanas in their natural habitat. Fresh Water: After heavy rains, watch the underwater cenotes pour fresh water into the sea. The Reality Check (Indoor Camping) This is basically "Glamping" with 4 walls. We built this in raw nature, and we want guests who appreciate that. Indoor Camping: Expect the elements—salt, sand, and everything else the wind brings in. It is not a climate-controlled, city-style resort. The Basics: The kitchen has a 2-burner propane stove, an eco-fridge, and basic necessities. Because of the salt corrosion, we keep things simple and functional. The Vibe: We’re laying it all out to avoid misunderstandings. If you want a million-dollar sterile hotel, this isn't it. If you want raw beauty and a killer breeze, you found it. Extra Note: Need more room? The 2nd floor (2-bedroom) is also available to rent! Guest access PLEASE NOTICE THERE IS NO CLEANING FEE. There is no "maid service" way out here in remote paradise. Any maids which live in Mahahual, live in-city and are full-time employed by the big hotels and are always highly sought after as Mahahual is now Touristy Booming. We call on and can hire your house caretaker to do the cleaning and maintain the off-grid systems in the house for you. He does a good job for not being a maid, but undoubtedly he will miss things if you are scrupulous/ more picky with things being clean, type-person. His daily fee is paid to him in pesos in person directly to him. we do not touch it. (only if booking within one weeks time before arrival) Think of this as camping, (inside) with 4 walls and amenities. It is very similar to this in the natural aspects of things. This is the cost of being less than 10 meters from the ocean trade winds, fine sand and crashing waves. This house lies between the ocean and the tropical jungle, It will be nice and ready but hopefully your group is the type who understands these locations and if something is very evident, simply ask our guy to come in and clean/fix it- that's what they are there for! So in a nutshell, please do not reserve the place unless you are a nature lover and easy going, this is nature at its finest. Basically if you can’t enjoy camping, you're just not that kind of person- It's doubtful you'd enjoy it anywhere out here, jungle beach off-grid secluded paradise. It’s truly silly and mind-blowing we have to say a lot of this cautionary stuff about the property when most everyone absolutely loves it, but some expectations (and bad airbnb translations) are completely different than others and that’s just how life is and rentals go! It’s a very dynamic, unique property so we really try our best to sort out who would and would not like it out here by saying these things. ---You get the entire 3rd floor apartment mentioned above and access to all common areas, two terraces, jungle areas and beaches. There are third and fourth floor beautiful balconies which all responsible adults are welcome to hangout on top (not for kids)- about 40 feet high, Great Views!! If you've read all this, just send me a request and we can work on changing the price for a discounted listing here ! Other things to note THIS IS A VERY UNIQUE PROPERTY. We're sorry if you already get it, but we want to be very clear. Eco-dwelling, please be smart with trash, impact, nature, energy and water and all the like. Once they are used up, they are usually depleted until the next day. All household water is thermal warmed by the sun in the huge black solar tanks on the top of the terrace and can vary from quite-hot in the summer months to sometimes chilly in the latter- really depends on the sun, wind and usage Try your best to bring as LITTLE PLASTIC to the ocean as possible!! Our Caribbean and our planet are already completely over-run with plastic wastes- DO YOUR PART. We voluntarily walk the beach and remove at least a FULL truck-load of plastic from the beach every other week with the changing tides in our local 10 kilometer area we actively support. Its 100% off-the grid- not connected to anything but internet ;) so please keep that in mind, we must pay for the water trucks, propane for cooking, generator gas for storms and pumping septic when there is too much consumption, It can get very costly and is difficult to orchestrate way out here with many of them not available until at least the next day at best. We have brand new Double sized solar panels, a tesla lithium battery and a small wind generator, still every extra person is felt in the system- more water, electricity, septic and so-on, so yes, We must charge extra per person/bed.. That being mentioned- We get a lot of Solo, nature travelers, so the price includes 1; after that there is a small extra charge per person, per night to help offset these costs. The weather changes fast out here on the ocean, 85% of the time its beautiful sunny day with little clouds and a nice westerly trade wind breeze, but sometimes it’s not. The winds, tides and currents dictate everything out here. Sometimes the beach looks like a lake, smooth and perfect for snorkeling. Sometimes it's more windy and it's better for playing in the waves, boogie boarding and feeling that perfect ocean breeze. Changes daily even! The winds and currents will occasionally bring in loads of sargasso or beach plastics to our yucatan coastlines. We have better beach position than most others in this scenario though and spent 7 years finding it! The beach portion in front of the house is normally raked for nearly every reservation, usually on the morning of the second day, as many people get in too late on the first day to even see the beach in the daylight- It would be unfortunate if the beach was “dirty” again when you awoke as it can do during those times. Note: We can not clean Sargasso if it is still currently being brought in by the currents, it will immediately be replaced and is fruitless. If it is a time of heavy Sargasso, please take a look around and see how much it affects our entire Caribbean, it is mother nature.
