Le Cabanon is a studio type space with a living area with sofa bed for two, a sleeping area with a double bed and a mezzanine with a single bed. The household is called "La Cure" (also available for Airnbn travelers) is a testimony of local History as its origins run deep into an undocumented area in between the fall of the Roman Empire and the Middle Age, across millennia it then passed from the church to Lords and to Generals. The Cure and the Cabanon are situated in the historical heart of the old village: perched on the bow of the ship towards the eastern side of the crest supporting the village and located between the 18th century belfry and the 14th century Church. Named after Minerva, Roman goddess of war, wisdom and the arts, Menerbes is today mostly occupied by artists. Nostradamus, in its time, compared the village to a big ship drifting on a sea of vineyards and orchards. You'll enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Luberon, a flying sensation while having breakfast in a fresh and green garden built on the village defense walls, warm sunsets will leave you with ochre and purple memories. Next to the Maison de la Truffe et du Vin with its restaurant you'll also be able to taste both AOC wine from the area as well as the famous black diamond. During the millenias, the household "La Cure" successively belonged to the the church and the military. During the Middle Age priests used to live there (the village's presbytery), the military took over and used it as a military garnison to hold the defense walls during the religious wars in the XIVth century (from 1573 to 1578), it's current architecture is the legacy of its last major structural renovation in 1724 after being used to protect villagers from the The Great Plague. La Cure continued this same ownership cycle through the most recent centuries, the French Revolution brought big changes as did the 1st French Empire (Baron Robert tomb is in the northern garden). It's last buyer a French Republic General lived in La Cure with his family. The Cabanon was used till the middle of the XXth century as silk productions and storage facility. A unique experience of French history in the heart of Provence. Guest access Old stone stairs fully independent from the other parts of the house. Direct access to the garden.
