Gammelstua is located by the ocean on Kvaløya, just 11 kilometers from Langnes Airport and approximately 15 km from downtown Tromsø. Enjoy Northern Norwegian nature right outside your door, and inside you can relax in the peaceful old house. The space Gammelstua is the old main house on the Ryeng property, located in the middle of Håkøybotn. Built in the early 1900s, it is idyllically situated right by the ocean. Here you can experience of how people lived before Norway became an oil-rich country. There´s no TV or internet on the premises - an opportunity for a relaxing break from everyday stress and time to enjoy the positive energy in the house and the surrounding countryside and nature. The homestead has over a 100 years of history in its walls - a special place with a delicious tranquility and an old soul. Everyone who comes there will be absolutely captivated by it! The ride in to the center of Tromsø will only take you about 20 min. if you feel like seeing more of the sights or visit the numerous cafés and restaurants in town. The excellent tourist information, Visit Tromsø is a great place to seek information about the numerous activities in the area. The house was renovated in 2008 and has a new entry, kitchen and bathroom, running water and updated electrical system. Guest access Gammelstua has two bedrooms in the renovated loft with a double bed (120 cm wide) and a small single bed in one room and two double beds (120 cm wide) in the other. Downstairs are a dining room and a living room, and fully equipped kitchen and bathroom with shower and toilet. The bathroom is also equipped a small washing machine for clothes. Other things to note The family also rents out a cozy Grill Cabin with seating for 25-30 people on the property further up in the woods for larger gatherings.
