Chestnut duplex suite room with mountain view

Enchanted Forest Farm is an 18-acre forest farmstay, located in Parbing(Ranka), a scenic village near Gangtok, Sikkim. It is a quiet getaway for those offbeat travellers and wanderers. It is a fully running farm with accommodation for guests. Guests are welcomed into the farm by the singing of birds and the sound of the enchanting waterfall nearby and of course – an invigorating fresh mountain air. The space We called it the Chestnut suite room as Chestnut is one of the common trees that form a part of our forest ecosystem. It is a duplex suite with the ground floor serving as a living room(cum bedroom for 2 extra guests) and the top floor is the actual bedroom. One interesting feature of the bedroom is the skylight right above the bed. It provides adequate sunlight during the day. Besides, you can also enjoy watching the clouds roll by, just by lying in the bed. There are big windows so that you get an uninterrupted view right from your bed. Overall, the cottage is made in such a way so as to provide our guests with utmost comfort and relaxation. The accommodation is dispersed so that guests can have privacy as well as roam freely and be quite alone. The unit comes with all the basic amenities including soaps, shampoo and dental kits. We have used traditional building methods, by using woven bamboos as walls and reinforced with cement. The bathroom has hot and cold running water. There are no TV sets in the farm. This is because we want to provide our guests with a true farm feel so that that can connect with Mother Nature during their stay. Nevertheless, we do provide free WiFi so that guests can stay connected with their family and friends. We have placed travel books and magazines featuring Sikkim so that they can gain more knowledge about this beautiful state. The room provides panoramic views of the lush green forest thanks to the huge glass windows in the bedroom. Almost 70% of the raw materials used in these structures have been procured locally from the farm. Here, we treat each guest as our own family member and look into their specific needs. Overall, at Enchanted Forest Farm, an invigorating smell of fresh mountain air coupled with enchanting views and serene environment offer a welcome change from the chaotic pace of the cities. Activities at the farm: Since the farm is spread over 18 acres, one can do a variety of things. Such a big forested area is all for you to enjoy. Organic Farming: Guests can get involved in farming and learn the processes involved in growing food organically. There is nothing like harvesting naturally grown veggies and fruits. Village walk and nature walk: (Guide charges applicable) You can go hiking to a stream near the property. The stream is fed by some beautiful waterfalls that will leave you amazed. You can also try angling there or just take a dip in it and relax. There are many hiking areas around the farm. You can also go on a village walk and get to know the local culture. You also get to experience the rich and diverse vegetation of Sikkim through these walks. Bird-watching:(Guide charges applicable) Our farm is a haven for birdwatchers. The farm is blessed with beautiful avian population. You can spot a variety of birds in their natural habitat and undisturbed. Bird-watching tours can be arranged upon prior request. BBQ and bonfire:(Extra charges) We can also arrange for BBQ and bonfire. Sit near the bonfire, sing, eat and enjoy and as you look up, you see stars gazing at you beautifully. If adventure is your thing, paragliding spot is just a stone’s throw away. Or you can simply grab a book and relax in the hammock watching the clouds roll over you. *Airport pick up and drop can be provided at extra cost. During your stay The concept of this farm is to provide guests with a quiet and calm ambience - a time to reconnect with mother nature. This is precisely the reason why we value your privacy and space. At the same time, we love to interact with our guests from time to time, just to make sure they are having a quality time. If there are any requirements, we would be happy to assist. Other things to note 10-15 minutes downhill walk(by stairs) and rough village trail is required to reach the farm from the drop off point. Upon your arrival at the drop-off point, one of our employees with come to assist you with the luggage. A small tip to the porter would be appreciated considering that he has to carry the luggage all the way down to the farm. This place is, however, NOT suitable for guests with mobility issues. So please check before booking. The tariff includes free breakfast and a complimentary drink. Breakfast Tariff is applicable for extra guests. Lunch and Dinner can be arranged at extra cost. (Veg Meal is Rs 250 per meal and Non-veg meal is Rs 350 per meal per person). Most of the veggies are grown organically at the farm. Guests are requested to wear comfortable walking shoes. Also, if you have any travel plans and need help with transport, do let us know in advance. Getting transport at the last minute can be a challenge at times, esp., during peak season. Laundry: Owing to the ever-changing weather conditions, it becomes difficult to provide laundry services. However, we can provide a basic service from time to time for INR 30/- per piece (trousers, t-shirts, socks, etc) We DO NOT provide any room service. We are family run accommodation and we strive to provide excellent services as a home run property and treat all guests as our own family member.
