The Elsbree House is located in the great Northern Catskills in the historic hamlet of Preston Hollow. This well-tended 1882 Victorian house boast access to modern amenities but with old world charm. It is located within close proximity to numerous options for dining and activities such as skiing, boating, fishing, hiking, antiquing and flea markets. The Elsbree House is perfect for couples, solo adventurers, wedding guests, or anyone looking to get out of the city and enjoy country living. The space Please keep in mind, this Victorian house is over a hundred years old. The windows will rattle, doors are odd, some rooms may be damp but this house has character and full of soul. It is a true home and we love it! Please treat it gently. Our house is also close to skiing, hiking and mountain biking. Windham Mountain, Hunter Mountain, Howe’s Cavern, Looking Glass Pond, Mine Kill State Park, Vroman's Nose, and Huyck Preserve are minutes away. For barn weddings and events, Blenheim Hill Farm and Olde Tater Barn are also few minutes drive. Guest access Guests have access to the whole house and yard (except the summer bedroom). While we love kids, there is no fence around the stream, outlets that do not have child protection guards, and stairs that are not too child friendly. Other things to note Please keep in mind, this Victorian house is over a hundred years old. As such, the windows will rattle, doors are odd, some rooms may be damp but this house has a character and full of soul. It is a true home and we love her. We promise to preserve and take care of her as long as we can and hoping to pass her along to another family one day. Please do treat her gently. Although the house has access to WiFI, there is no cell phone signal. You can make cell phone calls if you have an iPhone or Samsung once connected to WIFI. All you need is to switch your phone to wifi calling. Additionally, there is no cable service but there is a TV with an Amazon Firestick (Prime or Netflix account required) in the kitchen. In addition, please note that we have the village firehouse across the street and although it happens very rarely, you will hear some random sirens when the town requires volunteers during emergency situations.
