Our cabin, built in the early 1900s was the local one room schoolhouse. Converted from its days of desks and pencils, it sleeps six and has one bedroom with queen bed, one annex bedroom with two bunk beds and also two bunk beds to the side of the living area. Tech UNPLUGGED. That’s the way it is in our valley. No cell, little Internet. For basic not streaming connection, please come to our Lodge, 2 miles upstream or to our the local village mercantile. Pet friendly - additional $25 per night Pet friendly, it's is one of our basic cabins - nothing fancy except fishing stream out front, the rockers on the porch, maybe a setting sun filtering through the hickory trees, and the campfire smoke mixing the aroma on top of the meadow and cattle beyond. Fishing folk have their joys cut out for them here, for sure with the stream below - a stocked mountain trout stream. Wild Wind is not isolated up the mountain, although on its own surrounded by trees and forest on the right, it is across the Robinson River from the road to our little village of Syria, two miles upstream. It is two miles down river from our Graves Family Farm Main Lodge, where there is a three meal a day family style restaurant with traditional Southern Style cooking. Should you wish not to cook, you can join a meal plan there for a 20% discount, while 14s and under get great discounts with 5 and under for free. Plans are for 2 or 3 meals and packed lunches are part of the meals for you. Margie and Margaret run our kitchen and they will look after you, whatever you want (if they can lay their hands on it). Or just drop in for a meal. The entire cabin and grounds. They are all yours. Plus you have our 1100 acres, our Main Lodge, restaurant and seasonal swimming pool, stables, and fishing on another stocked river. We are the Graves Family. We've been farming this land - the valley and mountain slopes - since 1740. We farm primarily apple orchards with cattle, goats, pigs and hay fields. We are a family of six. Rachel and Jimmy are the Mom and Dad. You'll meet them down the road at our Graves Mountain Lodge and family style southern restaurant, three meals a day for all our guests - along with the hikers, horse campers, fly fisher folk, and our farm team. We're the Kids - Lynn, Lucky and our wives Tricia and Missy. You'll likely see us down at the Main Lodge. We are frequently there with our team for meals - and joking with Margie and Margaret who run the Southern cooking kitchen stoves and bakeshop. Just stop by and we'll fix you up with your next adventure here in our Blue ridge rural retreat. Missy and Lucky, Tricia and Lynn So, what to do outside? That is what we all about - the outdoors.
