The space St Andrews – Georgian Country House Near the Kent Coast Set in the peaceful village of Tilmanstone, St Andrews is a characterful Georgian country house dating from around 1820, surrounded by beautiful Kent countryside and perfectly placed for exploring the coast, historic towns and villages of East Kent. With a large private garden, cosy log burner and plenty of space to gather, the house is made for family get-togethers, multigenerational holidays, weekends with friends and special occasions. The Space St Andrews is a house to properly settle into. Gather everyone around the table for a long dinner, enjoy breakfast in the garden, light the BBQ on a summer evening or curl up beside the log burner after a winter walk. The house works particularly well for families holidaying together. There is plenty of space for grandparents, children and extended family to spend time together, while still having room to spread out and relax. You'll also find games and books for quieter moments, and the large private garden gives children and adults plenty of space to enjoy being outdoors. Dogs Welcome Four-legged guests are very welcome at St Andrews. The fully enclosed garden is ideal for dogs, and wonderful countryside walks lead out through the surrounding fields and bluebell woods. You'll find dog bowls and a few useful essentials in the utility room for your stay. We simply ask that dogs remain downstairs while inside the house. Coast & Countryside One of the best things about St Andrews is its location. You can enjoy the peace of the countryside while being only 10–15 minutes from Deal and Sandwich. Spend a morning wandering through the medieval streets of Sandwich, or head to Deal for its seafront, independent shops, Saturday market, cafés and excellent restaurants. For days by the sea, the long beaches at Deal and Walmer are close by. Kingsdown is another favourite, with colourful beach huts, beautiful coastal walks and the Zetland Arms sitting right on the beach. If you're looking for a traditional sandy beach day, the beautiful bays around Broadstairs are approximately 30 minutes away. Walking There are lovely countryside walks from the village itself, with footpaths leading through the fields and surrounding countryside. Further afield, explore the White Cliffs of Dover, Sandwich Bay, St Margaret's Bay or sections of the North Downs Way for some spectacular coastal and countryside walking. Golf Golfers are exceptionally well placed. Royal St George's, Prince's and Royal Cinque Ports are all within easy reach, putting three of England's great championship links courses close to the house. Walmer & Kingsdown Golf Club is another beautiful coastal course, with wonderful views across the Channel. Days Out There's an enormous amount to explore without spending hours in the car. Visit Dover Castle and the White Cliffs, Canterbury Cathedral, Goodnestone Park Gardens, Deal Castle, Walmer Castle or Howletts Wild Animal Park. Families can enjoy sandy beaches, wildlife parks and outdoor adventures, while grown-ups might prefer a long lunch at one of the area's excellent restaurants, followed by a country walk, a traditional pub or an afternoon exploring Deal's independent shops and cafés.
