This cozy, freshly renovated 1960s farmhouse is located on a working ranch - a perfect place for a Canadian Vacation. Whether you want a break from the city, or close access to 2 National Parks, Glacier view Cottage will give you a peaceful, family friendly retreat in the country. Glacier National park - St. Mary - 30 minutes Waterton Lakes National Park- 45 minutes US border - 5 min Cardston, Alberta -15 minutes north Large yard with playground, trampoline, sandbox and patio with fire pit. The space Guest have raved about the open spaces and majestic views from our Ranch! Because the property is on a working ranch, it is a pet-free. We do not allow outside animals to come. Located just 3 miles/5 km from the US Border crossing makes it a perfect location to explore both Glacier National park and Waterton Lakes National Park. Glacier View Cottage : Sleeps 10 people -great for families Full sized kitchen - an economical way to make your own meals. - complimentary coffee, tea, basic cooking supplies, as well as dishes and cooking utensils, pots and pans, crockpot, electric kettle. Cozy living room - a comfortable space to curl up with a good book, watch a movie, or have a game night and reconnect with friends and family. Basement recreation room - plenty of space for children to run and play - foosball table, doll house, table for games or colouring. There is a sofa bed in this area. 2 full bathrooms, upstairs bathroom with a tub and shower, basement bathroom has walk-in shower. Laundry room- full sized washer and dryer available in the basement to wash clothes with complimentary laundry soap Cement patio- relax and watch the wildlife, farm animals, or sunrises and sunsets from the red Adirondack chairs on the patio, have a campfire, or Natural Gas BBQ. Waterton Lakes National park is about 45 minutes (60 km) from the cottage - a great place to hike, bike, horse back ride, explore the local shops and relax. Glacier National Park - a scenic 30 minute drive - stunning views, scenic hikes, Going to the Sun Road. Police Lake provincial park is a 20 minute drive. Great for fishing, canoeing, picnicking, and nature walks. Cardston, Alberta is located 15 minutes north of the ranch. The town has an excellent scenic golf course located in the Lee Creek valley. There is also a nature trail along Lee Creek. The award winning Remington Carriage Museum. Ranch tours are available for our guests for $100 Canadian/group. Come experience a closer look at what ranch life is all about. Whether you would like a tour of the farm yard, a drive up into the hills to see the cattle close up, or the opportunity to pet and feed oats to our 3 horses. May and June are calving season so you can watch the baby calves frolic and play, or may even be able to experience the wonder of a new calf being born. Our barn cats are a favourite with guests, we often have new spring kittens to cuddle. Jeff has worked for years with the Waterton Biosphere Reserve on projects that reduce conflict between Grizzly Bears and Land Owners. He will share his knowledge of both ranch life and the wildlife in the area. Farm to Table:( depending on supply) we have a range of ranch raised beef products available to buy for your meals at the cottage. Enjoy eating local! Guest access Guests have access to a fire pit (see house rules), picnic table, hammock, natural gas BBQ along with playground (to be used at your own risk), with trampoline, swingset and a sand box. The playground area is located in a shared space with our family. We also have an old Highway trail that is great for scenic walks, bike rides, cross country skiing and snowshoeing (when there is enough snow). Other things to note Our ranch is the home to many forms of wildlife and native plant life. We try our best to respect the land and ask that others show the same consideration. There are many opportunities to observe birds, including eagles, hawks, cranes, and many other grassland and wet land species. Coyotes, deer and burrowing animals are common (even a moose once in awhile). We have also had Grizzly bears on our land, and advise visitors to be aware of their surroundings on hikes and walks.
