You'll find everything you need to have the best time hanging out with family or friends, getting your work done, and just relaxing. One of the highlights of our property is our river, which is accessed by a well-marked trail that's perfect for taking a morning or evening stroll on. If you venture there and go a bit further downstream, you can find lots of swimming holes and waterfalls to splash and swim in. (Please note: depending on the year, the river typically runs from October to July or August. Even when dry, the river canyon is still a fun place to explore.) Other things to note WILDLIFE As in any mountainous setting close to Yosemite NP, wild animals could pass through the property. Be prepared to see deer, rabbits, squirrels and birds. Occasionally, there may be coyotes. Rarely, snakes, bears and bobcats can pass through, but they tend to avoid humans. THE RIVER The Chowchilla river that runs through the property is a seasonal river. It usually flows from October to July or August, depending on annual snowpack and rainfall, though it may run all year. To be sure to experience the river flowing during your visit, plan to come before the end of May. Peak time to enjoy the river––when it’s warm enough to sunbathe and swim, is mid April to mid-June. WILDFIRE Outdoor fires will typically be allowed from November-May, and only in a designated wood burning stove. We provide firewood for our guests free of charge. Burn restrictions can be in effect throughout the year.
