Northside Loft and urban sanctuary is located in the soul of the city where diversity is celebrated. We are located 4.5 miles from US Bank Stadium, 1 mile to North Memorial Hospital and just minutes from Downtown, the Arts/Theater District, Museums, Shopping, the Warehouse District & Universities. Great for long stays! We have hosted many medical professionals, students, interns, traveling workers and interim staffing for people moving to MSP. Enjoy a private Loft on our upper level with a queen size bed and designer tiled power shower. It’s like a hotel room at a fraction of the cost. Our 1926 Craftsman bungalow recently restored is 1.5 blocks from Folwell Park, tennis courts, basketball, walking & biking trails. Theodore Wirth Chalet, public golf course, The Trailhead ski area, tubing and snow shoe rentals are close by. A microwave oven, mini - fridge and electric pot are furnished in the Loft for your convenience as are coffee mugs/wine glasses. . Many guests buy paper plates, plastic utensils and prepared meals from the deli at HyVee, Lunds, Byerlys or Whole Foods and eat most of their meals in the Loft. (The use of our laundry room in the basement is permitted for long stay guests.). Please ask. Guests will enter through our front door. The Loft is located through the door on the left of the mirror and up the stairs from the dining room. This door closes but does not lock. You may interact with us as much or as little as you like as the Loft provides complete privacy. Community garden around the corner and public park with tennis courts, play ground, picnic tables, basketball court, baseball diamonds, football field, walking and biking trails up the street. Drive, bus, taxi, Uber. bike, walk, jog. Rental bikes/trail system near-by. Two blocks to bus stop. We are committed to our local community and practice the conservation of water/energy/natural resources and the fair employment of local people. Please turn off lights when not in use including the outside lights to front door. The Loft is a converted attic with sloping ceilings. Beware of height restrictions and variation as you move away from the center of the room. Adverse weather conditions may occur causing power outages, loss of WiFi, impassable roads. Hosts are not responsible for acts of God, unforeseen circumstances or force majeure events. Guests are responsible for any damage caused by them during their stay. Biking,walking is popular. Rental bikes/trail system close by. Couple of blocks to bus stop. Community Garden around the corner, Folwell Park up the street. Cross country skiing, snow boarding and tubing at Theodore Wirth Park. Rentals available at the Trailhead. Sauna reservations by the hour. We live in an urban neighborhood so please keep car doors locked. Absolutely NO smoking, fire arms, children or pets. 3 nights minimum stay. Lock front door at night & close door to Loft. When you check out please strip the bed of sheets/pillow cases, gather used towels/wash cloths and bring them downstairs in the laundry basket provided in the closet. No need to remove duvet cover or comforter unless soiled. Please empty your trash cans and deposit your sorted recycling items and trash in the bins located in the back by the garage. All your efforts help us keep our affordable rates. If you check out when we are not here, please leave your key on the little table by the front door. If you have used the micro- wave, for the courtesy of the next guest, please wipe it out with the disinfecting wipes furnished on the shelf. Quiet time 11 p.m. Visitors to downtown should check out the Mississippi riverfront area around the Guthrie Theater & the Mill City Museum, next to the Stone Arch Bridge which together bring both the past & the present into a highly scenic - and active - area. To fully appreciate the City of Lakes, head to Uptown to visit Lake Bde Maka Ska (formerly known as Lake Calhoun) and Lake of the Isles, popular recreation lakes surrounded by beautiful old mansions & near Uptown’s shopping, dining & entertainment area. For arts enthusiasts visit the Minneapolis Institute of the Arts (free for permanent collection), the Walker Art Museum, the Northeast Arts District & the Museum of Russian Art - all worthy stops.
