This beautiful holiday home is a real hidden gem, tucked away in the most incredible location - just a stones throw away from the beach, coastal walks, cliff top promenade, attractions, local shops, theatre, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The space The property has a master bedroom situated upstairs, which is en-suite, with kingsize bed, TV, hairdryer, dressing table, drawers and wardrobe. Downstairs provides a stunning open plan living area, with underheated natural slate floor. There is a fully equipped kitchen, WC, a beautiful lounge with 42" smart TV and remote controlled velux windows & blinds. The lounge leads on to a good sized conservatory, which doubles as a dining and seating area - this can be separated from the lounge by bi-folding doors. A door in the conservatory leads on to a gated and secure courtyard - perfect for a BBQ or relaxing in the sun. Petitor Cottage is situated in the most incredible location, you'd never need use your car whilst here (we have private off-road parking). You have everything on your doorstep, stunning beaches, coastal walks, cliff-top promenade, fabulous eateries, coffee shops, pubs, shops, theatre, tourist attractions and so much more! The cottage itself is luxuriously finished, benefiting from under-floor heating throughout. It is a little bolt-hole set back away from the road, a peaceful haven and the perfect place to relax after a busy day maybe on the beach, exploring the coastal path, seal spotting or enjoying the local water-sports activities. Whatever you do, it is the perfect retreat in the perfect location! Guest access The property is tucked away behind our B&B, you benefit from free off road parking in the B&B car park, which has security cameras. Public transport is fantastic, there is a bus stop just 50m from car park, with regular buses running into Torquay town centre, harbourside and connecting services to surrounding areas. There is so much to do within walking distance of the property! Local attractions include Babbacombe Cliff Railway, Babbacombe Model Village, Bygones Museum and Babbacombe Theatre. You have two beaches close by, Oddicombe beach can be accessed via the cliff railway, the station is just a 2 minute walk away. Oddicombe has fantastic facilities, including beach huts, bar, restaurant, cafe, beach shop and water-sport hire (please note that there is no parking allowed on the beach during peak season). Babbacombe beach is on the opposite side of Babbacombe Bay and is about a 10 minute walk away, through wooded cliffside paths, or you can walk along Babbacombe Downs and follow the road down to the beach. Babbacombe is a smaller and quieter beach, which has its own concrete fishing pier, there is a small cafe on the beach which serves basic drinks and snacks. The beach does benefit from its own car park, however, be warned, the road is incredibly steep with sharp hairpin bends and during summer months can the car park can get very busy. Sitting just above the beach is the Cary Arms, a boutique hotel which has its bar and restaurant open to the public. The bar and restaurant has a lovely terrace area for food and drinks, which has the most incredible views across Babbacombe Bay. Just a 2 minute walk from the property is the beautiful Babbacombe Downs, this is the highest cliff top promenade in the country, with views all across Lyme Bay - on a clear day you can see as far as Portland Bill! The Downs provides not only a stunning vista, but an idylic green space, perfect for dog walks, picnics or just lazing around taking in the view and Babbacombe sunshine. Along the Downs are many good quality pubs, bars, restaurants and cafes, including Angels Tea Rooms which is a must visit, having won 'Best Tea Rooms in Devon' award several times. A five minute walk away is St Marychurch shopping precinct, which provides a great selection of local shops, including - bakery, butchers, fish-mongers & deli, greengrocers, chemist, post office, cafes, pub, opticians, chocolatiers, hairdressers & barbers. Close by you also have a Tesco Express, Co-op and a small Sainsburys. Torquay town centre is just 2 miles away and just 3 miles away is the WIllows, which has a large Sainsburys and a M&S superstore. Eating out, you are spoiled for choice, all within walking distance you have a choice of Indians, award winning fish restaurant Hanburys and a great selection of local restaurants. There are also lots of take-aways including Chinese, Indian, Thai, fish & chips, Pizza (Pappa Johns) and a kebab house. You potentially never need use your car whilst staying with us! Other things to note Please note there is an additional charge of £20 per dog (2 dogs maximum) on all bookings bringing furry friends, this is payable to the hosts before arrival. There’s an additional £25 linen charge for bedding if using the futon or bringing a 3rd guest. Please be aware that the Futon in the lounge is not a pull-out sofa bed and there are no curtains/blinds in the lounge or conservatory.
