Spacious coastal retreat, superb staff, sleeps 14

6/7 bedrooms spread over 2 houses on a beautiful half-acre plot in quiet gated lane, with security. Can sleep up to 14 guests. The space There are two houses in a half-acre garden, with a private pool: The main house has 3 bedrooms over 2 floors. Upstairs: The huge master bedroom has two king size beds, an ensuite bathroom, a massage table and a large balcony seating area outside. There are ceiling fans in the bedroom and bathroom. Downstairs: There are two large bedrooms, one with a super king size bed (or can be made into twin beds) and the other with a queen size bed. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans and the windows have external shutters. There is a bathroom and large kitchen. Outside: There is a very large terrace with a dining table that can seat up to 10 people and two separate furnished seating areas. There are six sun beds around the pool and a separate, shaded seating area. The second house has 3/4 bedrooms and is divided into two floors with an external staircase. Ground floor: There is a bedroom, with king size bed, ensuite bathroom and sitting room with sofa bed, which can be used as an additional bedroom. The bedroom has a ceiling fan and the windows have external shutters. First floor: The first floor has two bedrooms, both with king size beds, and a connecting ensuite bathroom. The bedrooms have ceiling fans and the windows have external shutters. Services: Our staff will clean your rooms daily and we provide a laundry service, all included in the price. Our hotel-trained chef will cook any meals you want during your stay; you choose what you want to eat and pay for ingredients. Seafood is a speciality and can be ordered directly from the local fishermen. Our property manager is happy to make recommendations for local trips; for more complex trips, such as 1/2-night safaris we can recommend a reliable local travel agent whom we use frequently. We are happy to arrange taxi pick-ups from either the airstrip at Ukunda (15 minutes from the house) or Mombasa (about 90 minutes depending on city traffic). The Beach: Our lane is directly opposite the beach access path. The beach is a 9-minute walk, or a little longer for guests with children, or older guests, as the path is uneven. Guest access Tuk Tuks run very frequently up and down the Diani Beach Road, taking guests to local shopping centres, bars and restaurants, and can be hailed from the bottom of our lane. There are also taxis available, which can be booked from the house. There is a beach bar and a handful of beach restaurants within walking distance from the house. There is a parking space at the property for any guests bringing their own car.
