The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lake Shore was voted the most beautiful place in the world. This description could not be more accurate. You will feel as if you have entered your own private Caribbean beach with amazing shops, food and hikes. * New to this home is a pet cat, Guinevere. She weighs 6 pounds and is a short hair. She does not shed a lot, however if you do not like cats or have allergies, you may want to seek out different accommodations. I am renting the lower portion of my house out. There is a cat named Guinevere who will come visit you downstairs, so if you are not a cat-person, this may not be a good fit for you. We have two ducks named Lily and Fern out back that lay fresh eggs daily. We can never keep up with eating them all so I hope you can help us out! The home was built 6 years ago and is gorgeous. Wood Floors, big open windows, and it is located in the quaint town of Suttons Bay Michigan. Suttons Bay is right on the beautiful white sandy beaches of Lake Michigan located just outside the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. My home is 1 1/2 blocks from the downtown area and beaches and 3 blocks from the grocery store. The TART trail is two blocks away and is a gorgeous bike trail that is 15 miles long and takes you into Traverse City. Come stay in my home. You wont regret it. You will have your own privacy downstairs with your own mini fridge, coffee pot, microwave. If you feel like cooking a larger meal you are more than welcome to use our kitchen or grill. However, I have a feeling you will want to use the bonfire pit, roast marshmallows, go for a night hike, hit up the many vineyards and wineries, cherry orchards, brew pubs, and natural wonders. My home is set up perfectly for guests to have their own privacy and just stay in their own private lower level, or they can come up and join Tim and I in our home. Guinevere the cat, however, doesn't really understand the boundaries. She is the most lovable cat in the world, she is just very curious and will want to be around you to say hello. If you are not into cute, cuddly cats, you may want to search elsewhere. We have had bonfires with guests, gone on wine tours, hikes, beaches, and made incredible dinners together. Some guests like to stay to themselves. My mission is to make my guests as comfortable as possible so it is entirely up to them. Suttons Bay and all of the Leelanau County villages are quaint little beach communities. There are incredible restaurants, gorgeous white sandy beaches that stretch for miles and miles, hiking and biking trails, wineries, breweries, farms and fun for all ages. Once I moved here I never left. It is paradise. You will need a car to come visit. All of the towns are about 6-12 miles apart and there is public transportation (the BATA bus) but I don't recommend it for your sole transportation needs. I own a 1970 VW Bus. If I am not teaching art lessons on the days you are here I charge $50 to take you on a 2 hour wine tour around Leelanau County. We can plan the trip together and then you don't have to worry about drinking and driving. Also, pulling up in a VW is always quite fun. We also raise ducks so this is a fairly new addition to the back yard :) You will love to get to know them and peacefully watch them as they go about their goofy days.
