East Texas private Bass lake. Cabin is 40 yards from lake but not directly on the water. 2 bedroom, 1 bath. Our cabin is clean, simple, quaint, and fully furnished. The AC/heat is split units with ceiling fans in each room. Come sit on the front porch, relax on the swing, or use the charcoal grill and fire pit. The cabin can be rented for 1 to 4 people. Your stay includes free boat rental, trolling motor and battery. 2 hrs from DFW and Shreveport The space Our fishing cottage has 2 bedrooms; one with king sized bed, the other with a full size bed and a twin. Perfect size for 4 guests. There is one bathroom, fully equipped kitchen, living room, and dining area. The a/c is a split unit in the bedrooms, with ceiling fans. The living room and kitchen area also have a split a/c unit. The house has a front porch with a swing. We offer a charcoal grill and a fire pit for use. The fishing on our lake is out of this world. Many locals know or have heard about the size of fish in this 20 acre tank and still talk about it to this day. Whether you are an avid fisherman or just a beginner, this honey hole is a great place to throw your hook. More good news, you don't have to purchase a fishing license to fish here. Guest access Our fishing cottage sits on 170 acres of hay fields and cattle. The cabin is located approximately 40 yards from the lake. We offer our guests the use of two Jon boats, complete with battery and troll motor. Some choose to sit and fish from our new 85 ft. pier. We do not supply fishing poles, or tackle. Life vests are provided and required to wear when on the lake. Other things to note We have a couple of dogs and cats, chickens, and cows on the property, but none of these critters will affect your stay. We do have coyotes that come out at night, as we are out in the country, so you will most likely hear them howling. We have deer, and sightings of Bald and Golden Eagles. There are wild hogs seen on occasion as well. Unfortunately we are NOT allowing guests to bring their pets at this time. Most of our guests catch fish. There are however certain conditions where the fish just aren’t biting. It’s always good to ask the local bait stores what bait to use. I will do my best to also recommend certain bait/tackle to use during the different seasons of the year. Also we obviously have no control over the weather. We may have inclement weather at times. I’ve had several guests that were hard core and brought rain ponchos to fish in. Most of the time when it rains there are breaks in the weather. We do NOT allow guests to swim in the fishing lake due to the rare sightings of snakes. All guests MUST wear life vests when in the boat or on the lake. Bass caught that are 10”-14” may be culled or kept. Anything smaller or larger must be thrown back in. Catfish can be caught and kept at this time. We had the lake managed in July of 2022 and added 15, 000 thread fin shad. This will feed the larger bass and will benefit the lake for years to come.
