History and charm of the villa This house was built in 1950 and has been the family’s primary residence ever since. We recently restored it, preserving its Canarian essence: we renovated the original stone walls, replaced the windows with double-glazed aluminum ones, and kept the wooden ceilings, which provide warmth and comfort. In summer, the villa stays cool, and in winter, it is warm and cozy thanks to the natural and forced ventilation systems, air conditioning in the living room/kitchen, and dehumidifiers in the bedrooms. Your private oasis The tropical garden is exclusively for you and your guests: fruit trees (bananas, papayas, avocados, coffee trees), tea plants, an organic vegetable garden with tomatoes and peppers, two ponds with fish and aquatic plants (a delight for children and adults!), and chickens that lay fresh eggs every morning. The private pool (with a heated whirlpool at 86 °F, optional fee) is ideal for cooling off in summer or relaxing in winter. Although it’s not big enough for swimming, just a 5-minute drive away, you’ll find natural pools and uncrowded sandy or pebble beaches. Full Sustainability (Level 10) The villa is 100% solar-powered: photovoltaic panels produce all the electricity, and thermal panels heat the water year-round without CO₂. We make our own compost and take care of the environment. By staying here, you help reduce our carbon footprint! There is one room and optional exercise equipment. Prime location in the north of Gran Canaria We are located in Farailaga (Guía), on the northern part of the island: lush vegetation, Canarian palm trees, small streams, and ocean and mountain views. 3 minutes from the highway and 7 minutes from the beaches. The area is quiet, away from crowds, with restaurants serving fresh fish, seafood, and local cuisine. In the nearby mountains, you can see volcanoes, craters, and stunning scenery.
