The names reflect the original use – ‘The Dairy Cottage’ speaks for itself, but ‘The Shippon Cottage’ is a name that many people may not be familiar with – ‘shippon’ is in fact an Old English word for a barn or cowshed. A lovely feature is the duckpond outside the cottages. This has been securely fenced to make it safe for children, who will enjoy watching the ducks swimming and feeding in the pond. It makes a really pleasant stroll in classic English countryside, as it winds around ponds and trees. The installation of bird boxes means that there is plenty of wildlife to see.
