Herron Island Maple Grove Retreat-Dog Friendly

Charming 2 bedroom, 1 bath cabin located on private island in South Puget Sound, 1.5 hours south of Seattle. Two large decks, one facing west and one facing east for relaxing, outdoor dining. The space Cozy, 2 bedroom cabin nestled amongst old growth maple and cedar trees on Herron Island, a private island located in picturesque Case Inlet, South Puget Sound, Washington. A quick 11 minute ferry ride will take you to the island where you will meet the resident deer (which are so tame you can feed them by hand). Look for Bald Eagles and Osprey as they soar around the island, often, pods of Killer Whales as well as seal pups as they soak up the warm summer sun. Guest access A 40-minute drive down the Key Peninsula from Gig Harbor takes you to the dock where you will board the Charlie Wells, the private ferry that services the island (Ferry fare is not included in rental cost). All guests will need a guest pass to board the ferry. Contact the owners for this pass prior to your arrival. Round trip ferry fare is $25.00 for vehicles under 20 feet and driver. Passengers are $5.00 each and a guest pass and ferry fare is required each time you board the ferry on the mainland side. Ferry fare must be paid in cash or by check. Please note that the last ferry onto Herron Island during the summer months: 7P Monday thru Thursday 9P on Friday 8P on Saturday and Sunday. Please check cancelations and try to be at the ferry dock one hour early, especially on Friday and Saturday. Other things to note There are no grocery stores or gas stations on the island. The closest gas station and grocery store is about 15 minutes from the mainland ferry location.
