Description

The Rob Story Ski Lodge is a spacious, comfortable mountain home ideally located on Telluride’s Sunny Side. The famous Gondola, Chair 7, Clark's grocery, shopping, and restaurants lie a short stroll away. With unbeatable access to skiing, hiking, and the National Historic District, you won't need a car here. In 2026, you'll enjoy a fully renovated kitchen, with granite countertops and high-end appliances. Carpet and flooring are also brand new. Town of Telluride business license BL#1132 The space Guests enter the Ski Lodge via a short sidewalk off Davis Street, up a few steps to the expansive deck, and through the front door (keys in adjacent lockbox). Inside is the Great Room, with flagstone fireplace, two large couches, two comfy chairs, 55" TV, lovely house plants, vintage skis, and European resort posters. You can lend the fireplace area privacy by drawing curtains for those sleeping in the pull-out bed. In addition to the living room, the open-floor plan upstairs holds a dining room and kitchen. The dining room features a French country table with seating for 8. The kitchen contains a new wine/beverage refrigerator that keeps beers and Pinot Grigio bottles icy cold. It's stainless steel, as are upgraded dishwasher, gas Viking range, and side-by-side refrigerator/freezer with ice-maker and filtered water spout. The kitchen island provides easy food prep and new sink. Kitchen cabinets--with granite countertops--stand above new flooring. The upstairs part also contains a bathroom, office nook, and pantry. High ceilings and weathered barn wood lend the Ski Lodge a chalet-like feel. Walk down newly carpeted stairs to hallway with washer/dryer closet, linen closet, bookshelf, and Ansel Adams print. Bedrooms with full baths anchor each end of the downstairs. The Guest bedroom sleeps four between bunk beds and a queen bed. The Master bedroom sleeps two in a queen bed and features a cedar-lined walk-in closet. That closet, incidentally, was once a sauna! See, the lodge originally came to be as a Best Western hotel in 1975, when Telluride Ski Resort was in it's infancy. Though the Ski Lodge has oft been renovated and upgraded since, I don't actually know the age of countertops in downstairs bathrooms. They're green and blue and don't appear modern. The sun-splashed deck has been called the best in Telluride. There, you'll find a ski rack, five-burner grill, Adirondack bench, and dining table with 6 chairs. At night, it's lit by patio string lights. The large hot-tub is located in the courtyard of the Tomboy Lodge complex. It's open to all Tomboy Lodge tenants but is usually unoccupied. Check out its strong jets and 104-degree water. Guest access The entire Ski Lodge is yours to explore. Feel free to spread out! Only the hot tub and parking lot are open to others. Speaking of parking, you're allowed two cars in the Tomboy Lodge lot. Parking passes are easily found when you enter. Other things to note Printed instructions for the Rob Story Ski Lodge are easily found on a side table near the dining room table. The instructions include information for WiFi, television, fireplace, parking, trash and recycling, and more.
