PETS WELCOME at our Cozy Cove Camp, set on the East side of beautiful Bald Head Island on Sheepscot Lake in Palermo, Maine. We have just under 1 acre of forested land with 113 feet of lake shore frontage in a quaint and quiet cove. There is an awesome metal dock, a fire pit, and a lake side bench swing to enjoy the lake view. Relax and unwind in one of the most beautiful Places on Earth. This charming camp is the perfect place to bring your family and create a lifetime of memories. During the day enjoy fishing (right from the dock), swimming and kayaking. Fill your evening with family time around the fire pit, making s'mores and telling stories. There is plenty of room for everyone in the camp with a master bedroom (queen bed) and a loft bedroom with a double and twin bed. The bonus loft space also has a futon for additional sleeping. The kitchen is full sized and well stocked for any type of cooking... although we suspect you may be using the provided grill more than the kitchen! Cozy Cove Camp is located in central Maine (Palermo - Waldo County), the perfect spot for day trips to the coast, or dining in Portland, or Shopping in Freeport. The entire camp is yours to enjoy for your entire stay with one exception. The shed is generally not for guest use. The shed does contains two additional single beds but we mostly use the shed for storage. If you really, really, want to use the shed for additional sleeping quarters we can probably come to an agreement. Since we do not typically allow guests to use the shed because we use it for storage, it may not be thoroughly cleaned-out and prepared for guest use, you will have to accept a certain amount of untidiness. So, if you think you will need some additional sleeping space either before or during your stay don't hesitate to ask us about using the shed. I must admit, the older grandkids absolute love it - being away from the adults and the younger siblings. You will be able to call us 24-7 if you encounter any issues with our property. We live approximately 90 minutes away and have a caretaker that lives only 5 minutes away. Bald Head Island is a very small and friendly community. There are several State Parks within 50 miles of the camp and 2 local breweries within 10 minutes. Portland Maine is 90 minutes south, Augusta Maine is 30 west, and South China is 15 minutes away. There are many more attractions that can be viewed on the website. If you bring your own small boat Sheepscot Lake has a public ramp off of Route 3 just before Bushey Shore. See the website for more information regarding the location of the public boat ramp and the water depth around the cove and dock. You will need a car to leave the Island to visit in-town locations and other local attractions. The access roads around Bald Head Island are gravel and make for great walks around the island community. The camp and grounds are NOT handicap accessible. People that require walking assistance or those that simply have a difficult time walking will find it very difficult or impossible to navigate into or outside the camp and to and from the lake. See the website for additional information. If you require handicap accessibility as described in the ADA or otherwise, this camp will not accommodate your physical limitations. We love our pets and we expect that you do too. We are pet friendly and allow one or more pets per stay. We do not require a pet fee for "well behaved" pets. We provide free highspeed cable internet; a RoKu; an Apple TV device; several board games; 2 air conditioners; dehumidifier; a rowboat and 2 kayaks; some adult and child life vests; portable 6x8 floating platform; 2 kids fishing poles and 1 adult pole - nothing fancy.
