Cozy Cabin with Pond on Six Acres

This is my weekend bolt-hole, but when I can't make it upstate, it can be yours. Buzzback is a rustic 2/1 cabin with all you need to get your relax on in the woods. The space This is my weekend cabin, which I don't get to use as often as I'd like. It's on six acres on the southern edge of Catskill Park, partway up a mountain above the town of Kerhonkson. Enjoy real peace and quiet in this 100% authentic upstate experience, approx. 2.5 hours' drive from NYC. There are a handful of good restaurants in the immediate area, and other well known spots like Peekamoose or Phoenicia Diner a nice country drive away. Or, bring groceries and stay in - the kitchen is stocked with cooking basics and you can enjoy dining inside or out, on the porch or the deck or in the meadow. The house has all you need to unwind for the weekend or longer - including no cell phone access! There is wifi and you can call using VOIP service. There's a speaker to play your iPhone or other music device, as well as a vinyl collection for the purists. There's basic cable and ability to stream netflix or watch a DVD. Also board games and books (remember those?). There's an indoor fireplace and an outdoor fire pit, you must supply your own wood. There's some outdoor lighting and a powerful flashlight on site - it gets very dark outside at night, although the moon and stars can light up the sky in the most amazing way. When you want to explore, the Catskills offers a ton to see and do, in all seasons. From skiing to hiking to swimming to visiting towns like Woodstock, Saugerties and Hudson, you won't run out of things to do. The 2 bedroom, 1 bath house with meadow, barn and pond feels quite remote, but there are neighbors close enough to keep panic at bay. It's fully stocked with basic and living goods, just bring yourself and some stuff to eat and drink. Guest access You have full run of the six acres - I dare you to hike deep down into the woods or up the mountain. Once booking is confirmed I will advise how to gain access. Other things to note Fireplace Before you light the fireplace, you need to turn off the heat OR the smoke will be sucked back into the living room and you and all your stuff will stink like smoke, as will my furniture. Garbage Treat this as a campsite, you must take your trash with you. There is no garbage collection. An easy way is to use small bags and take them with you when you go out to dispose at Stewart's, Walmart, the self serve car wash, or similar. If you don't properly dispose of the trash, our cleaner charges $20 per bag for removal, which will be taken from your deposit. Please close any remaining “$20 trash bags” completely and leave inside, or the bears and the bugs will come. And no one wants that. Remember, we're in the country!
