It is a 5 min drive from our quiet neighborhood to everything retail & restaurants, 25-35 mins to dwntn Colorado Sprgs, OCC, Manitou, & the mountains! You have a private entrance and space, amenities to make your stay cozy and comfortable, a *kitchenette stocked with tea, coffee, condiments, spices, and freshly baked goods for breakfast or snacking. *Kitchenette-no sink/dishwasher. The space We are looking forward to welcoming you to the place we call home! We hope to be able to greet you upon arrival and show you the suite, but self-check in with the lockbox is always an option. The right side of the driveway in front of the smaller garage door is yours, route to the suite is across the driveway and front of the house, proceed on the stepping stones around the house to the right and then through the gate into the back yard. Walk is short with a little slope, (please let us know if you need help with your luggage as the walk is small stones and pavers). Your private entrance is through the sliding glass doors in the backyard. You are welcome to drop off your luggage early, and we can take it into your suite for you. The lock box with your key is on the post just outside your entrance. A little more about the space, upon entry is a coat rack and shoe/boot tray to help keep your space organized. The living area consists of a daybed, which provides seating during the day, and is made up for sleeping once you crawl under the spread, with a trundle bed underneath. A laptop friendly work space, desk chair and WiFi all make work easy and comfortable. The couch also allows relaxed seating to watch shows of your choice on the large screen smart TV, cable equipped. You’ll find the warm and comfortable king bed in your bedroom, which along with the single beds in the living area, is fitted with high quality linens perfect for a night, or a week. We can also provide an air mattress on request, for an additional guest. The bathroom has a tub and shower, hair dryer, and all the amenities you would find in a hotel. Clean, fluffy towels are always available. Your kitchenette includes a mini-frig, toaster oven, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, electric fry pan, just about everything except a stove/oven, or kitchen sink. Paper and plastic kitchen/dining items are provided, or you may use any of the non-paper/plastic dishes, etc. and rinse to re-use - bathroom sink can do in a pinch. There is a stairway in the suite which leads upstairs, kept locked to ensure your privacy. We have central air and heat throughout the house, with the thermostat upstairs accessible only to us. There is a fan in your suite to use in warmer weather, and another can be provided to you upon request. In the cooler seasons, the additional heaters in your suite will warm it up quickly if you like it toastier. When the weather permits, opening your windows for fresh mountain air is always an option! Additionally we can adjust the thermostat, our goal is for you to be cozy and comfortable. Please turn heaters off if used, whenever you leave the suite. We have not said no to any dog yet, we love dogs! (As long as they are bringing well-trained humans with them 😄). We’re sorry to say no cats, one of us is allergic. We have a fenced back yard and grassy area for all furry friends. We now have two of our own, they both are very friendly, and are always happy to meet our guests, but we don't want them to be annoying. And of course, don’t want our dogs to meet yours unsupervised, or until we know that they will be friends. They are small, our 9 y/o is an 11 lb mini-schnauzer mix, and the 19 month old -still-a-puppy is 21 lbs, and along with other things, is part Australian Cattle Dog and Chihuahua. What they really hope to do, is sneak into the suite to see if there might be some unattended dog - or people - food, to gulp down as quickly as possible, so visiting with them outside if you like is probably the safest bet. There is a pet fee if major clean up, or repair is needed after your stay. We’re not expecting any problems, but want to be clear so to not have any surprises with the potential additional fees. We ask that you do not leave your dog unattended if they tend to bark. For our guests without dogs who prefer to not interact with our dogs, please let us know and we will keep ours out of your way. We are thrilled to be able to share our home, and we truly want our guests to be happy and more than satisfied. Upstairs it is just the two of us, except for the spoiled mutts, and we try to keep the noise level to a minimum. The backyard is a shared space (with us), just let us know if you want to spend time out back, we are happy to accommodate you so you can have your own space and privacy. The back yard has comfortable seating and a fire pit. At this time, we are declining back-to-back guests, so we can sufficiently air out the suite between guests. I personally clean the suite, using a Lysol/bleach spray, along with a hospital grade disinfecting spray, making sure to wipe down areas that are frequently touched, such as light switches and doorknobs. We are providing hand sanitizer in the suite for your use, disinfecting wipes, and anti-bacterial soap. But there are not six additional spaces, as written on front page of this listing, (it seems to incorrectly auto-populate). The suite has 4 areas: bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette/dining area, and living room/area, possibly 5 if you want to count the outside patio. Guest access The entire basement suite is yours, aside from a storage room which houses mechanical equipment and other personal items. Other things to note Our neighbors have dogs that bark at times, from behind their fence.
