Apt 4: Montepulciano 800 yr old Monastery

Our self catering accommodation is in an 800 year old converted monastery situated 5 minutes drive from the Renaissance town of Montepulciano, renowned for its Vino Nobile wines, close to art and culture, with great views, restaurants, coffee bars and enotecas. Our local area is a paradise for hikers, cyclists, joggers or simply walking through the incredible Tuscan country side that offers memorable sights of farmland, forests and rolling hills. The space Apartment 4 - Donatello, Donato de Bardi Donatello has the most history of all our rental accommodation at Sant' Antonio; centuries of monks and farmers have lived under this roof. The apartment is situated on the 1st floor, up a flight of steps that leads from the gardens and lawns of Sant' Antonio to a terrace overlooking the forests, olive groves and gardens. This accommodation has a shared terrace but a reserved outdoor table for 4 situated "al fresco" by the private entrance allowing you to enjoy morning coffee or a glass of Vino under the Tuscan stars. Donatello is part of the main structure of the 800 year old ex monastery. The entrance leads into the spacious dining room, furnished with eighteenth century oak wood furniture and a dining table that comfortably seats 6 people. Off the dining room is a kitchen with splendid views of the Valdichiana, lakes and Umbria in the distance. The dining room leads onto a second level, up a small flight of steps, into the lounge area and entrance of two separate double bedrooms, each with a double orthopaedic mattress and air-conditioned. From the small long bedroom windows, built to keep the cool temperature indoors during the summer and the cold out during the winter, are magnificent views of the forests, olive groves and rolling hills. The lounge is furnished with a very comfortable sofa set, decorated ceramic traditional stove, coffee table, satellite television and WIFI. The one bathroom situated off the lounge consisting of a toilet, shower, sink and bidet has wonderful views of the country farm lands, great to enjoy whilst taking a shower! The whole apartment is typical "old" Tuscan style décor with terracotta handmade bricks and exposed chestnut wooden beams. Guest access The accommodation is part of our 800 year old converted monastery situated 5 minutes drive from the Renaissance town of Montepulciano, renowned for its Vino Nobile wines. Accommodation include free 24 hours internet connection / WIFI which is available around the pool (during the warmer months), terraces, gardens and accommodations. There is no charge for car parking or the use of our private 3.4km running / walking track that winds through the olive grows, farm lands, rolling hills and oak forests with stunning breathtaking views behind each corner..... All guests have free use of our Swimming pool during the summer season, small football field and BBQ's. Other things to note All apartments are self catering and furnished with linen, towels and kitchen utensils. Bath and bed linen is changed every 3/4 nights. For extra linen or towels changes, a supplementary charge will be applied. Accommodation rates includes: - Free 24 hours internet / WIFI. - A private 3.4km running / walking track that winds through the olive grows, farmlands, rolling hills and oak forests with stunning breathtaking views behind each corner..... - Small grass football field and stretching / yoga area - 100 meter hill climb for extra running activities - Parking - Gardens and terraces - BBQ facilities - Swimming pool (during the warmer season) Firewood: Euro 5.00 per night for accommodations with a fireplace, if used. During the colder season, rates are exclusive of central heating, to be paid separately in on a consumption basis. Each accommodation is individually controlled. Rates are non profit. NB: A tourist tax of €2.00 per person per day is not included in the accommodation rate and is to be settled when paying the final account. On Sundays the office is closed.
