Our lake home is the perfect mid-way point between IU Bloomington and Nashville (Brown County) Indiana! Catch an IU game, stay by the lake while you’re in town to visit family, or make us your home base while you explore quaint Nashville! The space **This listing has an approved zoning variance with Monroe county on Lake Lemon. Book with confidence knowing your reservation will never be canceled due to zoning violations!** Please read full listing before booking!! 🙏🏻🩷 Relax in your backyard hot tub, with a view of the lake, and complete with mood lighting and a waterfall! Call our local masseuse, who can set up her table on our deck- and receive a relaxing massage while listening to birds singing. Dock your jet skis and/or boat, pontoon, or kayak at our dedicated dock. Spend an amazing, relaxing time bonding with family at beautiful and serene Lake Lemon! A 15 minute drive to IU Bloomington and 20 minute drive to Nashville Indiana. Quaint winery 5 minute drive away. Our lake home is directly off a small canal shared by a few homes that adjoins to the main body of the lake. Our dock is clearly labeled and photographed in our property photos and is our only dock. Please do not trespass on other neighbors docks. Nearby activities: Hike, bike, fish, ride horses and swim at nearby Brown County State Park. The largest state park in the state, and one of the largest in the nation!!! Nearby facilities in Brown County offer zip lines, ATV riding, and paintballs! A short 4 minute drive takes you to riddle point park. For a small entrance fee you can use the beach and swim, launch your kayak, hike for a beautiful view of the lake, and fish! Bloomington (15 min drive) boasts many parks, a mall, movie theaters, boutiques, restaurants to satisfy the foodie in your family, beautiful IU Bloomington campus, the wonderful IU library and art museum. Nashville (15 min drive) offers adorable boutique shopping, fudge!, beautiful rolling hills and autumn scenery unique to earn its name as the “little Smokies”, and is a wonderful tourist destination in its own right. Vacation right in your own Midwest backyard with all these exciting activities and more right at your fingertips! Whether you choose to enjoy your lake view from the porch with a book or board game, or explore the nearby communities. There’s something for everyone at the highly underrated Lake Lemon!! Please note, while we do not charge a separate hot tub fee as many locations do, please understand that the cleaning fee also serves to cover the expense of chemicals, hot tub maintenance and cleaning as well as heating the water. It also cover maintenance and cleaning of the gas grill and keep our property beautiful and kept up!! Thank You for your understanding:) The space: UPSTAIRS- ranch level entry to front door. There’s a master bedroom with a king size bed. Across the hall is a full bathroom shared with the second bedroom that’s also upstairs. The kitchen and living room are on this level. The living room walks out to a very spacious deck/balcony area with a second dining table and lake view. Steps from the deck take you to the yard and down to the basement level where the hot tub is. WALKOUT BASEMENT- steps down from the living room take you to the bright walk out basement. In the basement we have a sectional couch that pulls out to a queen bed. There is a second bathroom right by the sleeping area. The door in the basement walks right out to the hot tub. We provide hot tub towels near the door in the basement. There’s a grill by the hot tub. UPDATE 2/2025- I will no longer be charging for guest after 4, it has been updated to after 6 guests there’s a small per person per night extra fee. The reason for this is nearly always for bigger parties we need to pay our cleaning staff more. Please be honest when booking regarding your party size so we can sufficiently stock the house. Please read the fine print!!—> ⭐️ What we provide: clean linens and towels, toilet paper and some basic toiletries, one to two rolls of paper towel, washer and dryer, we will try to provide a small amount of laundry soap. If you prefer a certain brand or type please pack your own. We provide several dishwasher packs and there is a dishwasher. We do try to base the amount of consumable items on the number of guests and the length of stay. We try to always have some hygiene products and extra items on hand incase you forget to pack yours!!! Fun extras (aka, it should be there but please don’t hold it against us if it’s missing!): telescopic firepit skewers which are located in a kitchen cabinet, there should be a lighter in a kitchen drawer as well. We also try to provide cut wood for the fire pit. Unfortunately sometimes these items disappear from the unit and do not get replaced immediately. My crew works very hard to do their best to keep everything stocked, but please consider these things extra perks. We do also have a new bigger gas grill, we TRY to keep some propane on hand. If you know for certain that you wish to grill your meals, I would recommend bringing some propane. We appreciate you cleaning up the grill after yourselves. At times things do disappear from the house or are consumed and unfortunately do not get replaced immediately. I cannot absolutely guarantee that consumable items such as fire wood, propane, a lighter, will be present. If there are things that you need for your stay that you forget to pack or that we do not have on hand, there is a small market (Needmore groceries, see my guidebook!) about a five minute drive away where you can obtain all of these items. Cut firewood is $8 a bundle there and they do sell small amounts of propane to grill with. We do provide a Keurig coffee maker as well as some K cups. If you prefer a different type of coffee please pack your own. We provide a very simple breakfast such as dried and hot cereals and cereal bars. We stock some beverages that vary in selection and usually a few fun surprises :) !! We have some snack foods as well as spices for cooking. In the kitchen we provide both plastic dishes and cups for use on the deck and or around the hot tub, as well as nicer plates and dishes to use for regular indoor meals. We kindly ask that you use plastic only outside of the house to avoid any injuries due to broken glass. We also provide wine glasses, pots, and pans. We provide some cookie sheets and basic bakeware. We have several serving dishes in the kitchen. **Swimming, boating, firepit and hot tub use at Lake Lemon is at your own risk. We may not be held responsible for any injuries or damage to watercraft. If you plan on using our dock for watercraft I need to know prior to booking.** On our rules, the biggest is this house is not suited for parties. If we have to haul out bags of empty beer bottles and clean cigarette butts, you will be assessed fees. We have neighbors in close proximity who help keep an eye on our property and look for unusual amounts of traffic and noise. There is a campground nearby who will also complain. This home is not appropriate for parties. We appreciate your honesty in your party size on your booking request. We do charge a fee after the 6th person. We ask you let us know at the time of booking if you anticipate having guests visit during the day. The house is not really set up to host large gatherings (even if in your mind it does not constitute a “party”) we will consider guests on a case by case basis. We thank you for your honesty and understanding! Note- breaking our rules waives your right to leave a public review. We are also strictly animal free. We have severe allergies and asthma in our family and use this property frequently ourselves. Please respect our property and our rules for our home. Please do not send me a message asking for an exception, we do not make exceptions to this rule, sorry!! There are other homes on lake lemon that are pet friendly. **Through the low season we will be offering two night stays, November 1-March 1. Beginning in May our 3 night minimum will apply. More information on this coming soon. I cannot guarantee the availability of the massage therapist prior to booking. If your desire to book with us hinges on that availability please book elsewhere. The masseuse is an independent contractor and once a booking is confirmed I will provide her phone number to schedule with her. Other things to note There is a bit of a steep stairs down to the dock. As well as steep stairs to the basement. The road in front of the house is busy at times and there is no fence at this time in the front yard. Please check back frequently as we have many updates and improvements planned for the near future! I must be made aware in advance if you plan on docking a watercraft at the lakehouse. We have Ring cameras monitoring the OUTSIDE perimeter of the property. They are only outdoors and pointed into the yard areas only. This is for security purposes being in close distance to a business. If you ask for maintenance to the property during your stay, we reserve the right to enter the property if there is no answer to a knock. We cannot schedule maintenance to your schedule as we do not have 24/7 staff employed. We will need access to the property as needed if you would like something addressed during your stay either with or without you present. If you do not want the property accessed in your absence the item will not be able to be addressed until you check out and you will need to let me know that upfront. Asking for maintenance is agreement for us to access the property.
