This cozy updated 1932 cabin is surrounded by oak trees and is a short stroll to coffee restaurants and the center of Idyllwild. Even though we are close to town it feels quite private and secluded on a 3/4 acre fenced lot perfect for your dogs to run and play. Inside the cabin is a redwood paneled living room with stone fireplace, a galley kitchen with washer and drier and a queen size bedroom with en suite. The back patio has been set up for outside entertaining with a grill and patio table. We hope you enjoy your stay in our unique little cabin which dates back to the 1930’s. It was originally built on this property as a summer get away for the mother of John Sigworth who owned the large compound directly south of here. It has only had two previous owners and most of the cabin retains its original features - a central stone fireplace with bark mantel , a full width front porch with pine trunk columns ,craftsman pocket windows and wide plank redwood paneled walls and ceiling . Its Oak and redwood front door with nail head trim and Horseshoe knocker is another interesting feature . We have tried to give it a gentle up grade while maintaining these features and keeping its original footprint and layout. One of our recent guest called it “Rustic luxury” and we love that. It is a quite neighborhood of established homes and original cabins. It is an easy 10 minute walk into town. There are a matched pair of Huffy bicycles on the premises to ride into town on or just explore the area with. There is high speed wifi Or go retro and use the record player and an assortment of vintage vinyl. Bring your laptops to down load a movie at night or just unplug altogether and enjoy cabin life. Take advantage of the many trails up here for adventurers or just sit out on the front porch and watch your dog go wild chase birds and squirrels on a 3/4 acre oak tree covered - completely fenced in yard.
