The Roost is set among old growth cottonwood trees in a relaxed older neighborhood that feels like the country. Keep cool in the summer with a/c and shade outside. You'll have the entire guesthouse to yourself, May- Oct. there is a small patio to bbq and a yard with fire table and 4 Adirondack chairs to enjoy the many birds , deer and bunnies in the summer. We live to back of the property so are available if anything comes up. The space The Roost is a new construction build (2021) that offers modern farmhouse charm- with white quartz counters, locally made custom cabinets, locally milled rough sawn floors and beetle kill ceiling and trim. It also has two mini splits in the downstairs area, offering air conditioning and heat. Enjoy on demand hot water, a 32" in smart HD fire TV in the main living area downstairs and internet that is hardwired to the cabin for high speed and better security. The Roost might be small but it feels spacious, even for a group of four. You will have your own parking next to the porch and a small area outside to enjoy bbq’ing, looking at the stars and listening for the owls that live here. Or, sit in the private courtyard and warm up by the fire table. We intentionally don't have patio lights in the courtyard so that you can enjoy the beautiful night sky by campfire. Spring of 2026 we are adding a privacy fence between the driveways for The Roost and our house to help keep time spent outside more private for guests. The Roost is one hour from Yellowstone (east gate opens early May and closes early Nov and winter travel by snowmobile starts in December). The Roost is about 5 minutes to downtown. We do not allow pets to be courteous of future guests who may have allergies. If you need to board your dog you can pre-book with Bed and Biscuit. The boarding facility is just down the road from our guesthouse and they have a nice place for dogs. No smoking or vaping on property. Please take a walk down the road. We live in the main house just behind the guesthouse and we have a black lab named Pepper. She wears a wireless collar that keeps her in our yard so please don't call her to come up to the guesthouse. The Roost is located close to the airport and a quick bike or drive to downtown. There is a short trail close to our house that would make for a nice walk. Its also located 2 blocks from an elementary school with 3 playgrounds. You are welcome to park along the road in the grass as well. Other things to note Between each guest all surfaces are cleaned, light switches, lamps including on/off knob, door knobs or handles, railing, stools, chairs, grill and anything else a hand might touch. All bedding, including the duvet, is washed in hot water and changed between guests.
