Cole Farm was a little village, famous for its cows and horse breeding, home for the Cole family for a few generations. The iconic farmhouse features hand-crafted beams, majestic chimneys, museum-quality wide plank floors, wood paneling, exposed beams, high ceilings, striking period details & historical artifacts. As you enter the living room, you'll see a stunning 3-way chimney (one of a kind) towering the space - hand crafted in early 1700's. Opposite the living room is a full modern farm-style kitchen with new appliances (fridge, gas stove, microwave, dishwasher, espresso) and a large working area. The three bedrooms are smaller in size and feature a dramatic blend of rustic and contemporary living. Master bedroom has a king size bed with an adjustable base. Outside the house, you'll enjoy a front porch overlooking the large front yard, an historic well , and magnificent old walnut trees. In the back, you'll find a large backyard with a private deck, protected by our hens (yes, we have fresh eggs) A large parking lot for 3 cars. Cole Farm is a rare example of a rural hamlet in the limits of a bustling city. Enjoy coffee shops, artisan stores, and restaurants within walking distance. Whether you stay here for leisure or work, we make every effort to delight our guests and to provide a truly exceptional experience. You'll have access to the historic house excluding the basement. Guests are welcome to use front porch, deck, front yard and back yard. Parking lot is shared with the host, and guests can park up to three cars. Host lives in a separate unit next to the historic Farmhouse. Basement is used as a small museum with a unique selection of antique US artifacts (1800's to 1950's). Host will provide a guided tour upon guests request. I live in a separate unit next to the historic farmhouse. Make yourself at home and let me know if you need anything. Situated in the heart of the East Side, this oasis of calm is a short walking distance to Blackstone blvd., bakeries and fine dining. Brown University campus, and Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) are 1.5 miles away. Downtown Providence and Federal Hill are within a short 5-minutes drive. A safe and friendly neighbourhood. Perfect hub to New England attractions: Newport, Boston, Cape Cod are within a one- hour drive. Amtrak, Peter Pan and the RIPTA bus terminal are within a 5-minutes drive. Uber, Lyft, zipcar and taxis are readily available. You are welcome to park up to three cars in the parking lot. We are a no-smoking and no-pets house and property. While we understand and respect our guests requests to accommodate pets, we cannot host pets in this historic house.
