There is a lovely outdoor terrace area with barbeque & table & chairs & if our favourite spot for sitting out reading, taking refreshments or just enjoying the view. Other things to note Get active in this beautiful rural part of France: The famous GR36 walking path which stretches from Normandy to Spain in the south passes right past our door. You don't have to go far to find a great walking or mountain biking trail. They are everywhere and are very well marked and signposted. There are 2 lakes close by, swimming and water sports are available in the summer season, they even have beach and restaurant facilities. Hunting and fishing are available here and are strictly to season guidelines. Castre and Mazamet both offer great shopping and markets selling the local produce and specialities from this region. The local Gaillac wines are splendid and very reasonable. Castres houses the famous Goya museum. The UNESCO world heritage sites of Albi and Carassonne are only an hour away. Our self-catering accommodation in Cambounes offers an excellent location from which to explore and experience this beautiful region and the relaxed pace of life.
