The space The Castle offers a rare opportunity to stay in a private Grade II* castle set within 14 acres of grounds in the Durham countryside. Sleeping up to 32 guests across 11 bedrooms, the property is designed for large celebrations, group stays and special occasions. The formal dining room seats up to 32 guests, making shared meals and celebration dinners easy to organise. The gourmet kitchen supports self catering or private catering. Guests can enjoy multiple reception rooms, open fires and one of the property’s most unique features: a private dungeon bar for drinks and evening gatherings. The property also includes a hot tub and sauna for relaxation, along with outdoor seating and barbecue space. Well behaved dogs are welcome, and helicopter arrivals may be arranged in advance by prior agreement. Guest access Guests have exclusive use of the castle, grounds, hot tub, sauna and all facilities. Other things to note Please note that we allow up to a maximum of two dogs by prior arrangement. Dogs must be kept to the ground floor and not allowed on the furniture. There is a small additional charge per dog also. All bookings are subject to approval based on group size, capacity limits, potential impact on surrounding residents in the area, and plans for duration of stay.
