Relax while you cozy up to a fire in the wood burning fireplace, or enjoy a fresh cup of coffee on the deck while watching the blue jays fly between tall pines and cedars surrounding the house. Our 6 bedroom, 3 bath, well equipped cabin in Crestline, is walking distance from Lake Gregory (half mile to the lake, but just over a mile to the beach area), just 8 miles from Lake Arrowhead, 11 miles from Snow Valley Resort, and 30 miles to Big Bear Resort. Follow the steps down from the street to the front entrance of the house and enter into the mud room/laundry room with full size washer and dryer where you can store your gear from your outdoor adventures. From there, enter into the kitchen where you will find the essentials for making a home cooked meal when you don't feel like eating out. A breakfast bar with stools is available to enjoy a quick breakfast and some coffee from the Keurig brewing system, while hanging out with friends and family in the living room. Feel free to make complimentary pancakes or waffles for breakfast (but please limit yourself to one box of mix in the fridge per stay. If you use more, please replace any extra opened boxes). The living room features a flat screen TV equipped with Roku that can be used to sign into your various video watching applications (such as netflix, hulu, vudu, amazon prime, etc. Just don't forget to sign out before you leave!). You can also watch various available DVDs on the up-converting DVD player, or bring your own favorites while you sit around the wood burning fireplace. We also have recent movies available for you to enjoy on the Vudu account through the TV. Enjoy dinner at the dinner table with space to seat six. The table can be extended to accommodate additional people by adding in the leaf. From the common area, you can also step outside through the dutch door onto the deck, or just open the top of the door to let in the mountain fresh air. There is a small electric stand up grill that can be brought out to the deck for some quick grilling (about six hamburgers) as well as a Coleman portable propane grill that must be brought down to the paved area below the back deck. Please bring your own propane canisters and don't forget to clean the grills before you leave. On the lower level you will find the master bedroom with a king bed attached to a full size bath, and a bedroom equipped with a trundle bed. The master bedroom has direct access to the back wooded area if you feel the need to step outside for some fresh air. On the main level is a bedroom with a full bed located right next to a full bathroom. The upper level has a spacious queen bedroom overlooking the towering pines and cedars and two smaller twin bedrooms that all share a full bathroom. There are also three twin folding beds available. If you use them, please fold them and return them to the closet before you leave. We do NOT have air conditioning. It can get warm up here in the summer, but the house is well shaded and built into the hill, typically keeping it cooler. We have a ceiling fan in the master bedroom. We also have a couple of standing fans in the closet of the main level bedroom. The cabin has wireless internet, lots of DVDs (G through R rated), a few puzzles, games, cards, and books. Our remote controlled heating system will ensure that even if you choose a winter weekend getaway, the cabin will be warm and toasty upon your arrival. We have a security system that will be turned off during your stay, so you won't need to worry about that feature. There is an access panel located by the front door in the mud room that can be used in an EMERGENCY SITUATION ONLY to contact help. Please DO NOT touch the alarm keypad unless it is an emergency. Just to let you know, there is a motion activated security camera directed towards the door. Don't forget to smile! If you are coming with kids, please note that the stairs are pretty steep. There is a door leading to the lower level stairs and a baby gate at the bottom of the upper level stairs. Please always supervise children on the deck and the steps at the front entry. If you have dogs, we don't have a fenced in yard. Also, coyotes are in the area, even during the day. Do not let your dogs outside off leash. Guest access Parking: We have parking located at the top of the stairs to the front door. Do not park on any of the neighboring parking decks. They are privately owned by our neighbors. Once your stay has been confirmed, we will email or text you your personal entry code to the front door that will be valid during your stay. The alarm system will be turned off during your stay. Other things to note We stock toilet paper and paper towels sufficient for a weekend stay. If you are staying longer or have a larger group, you will need to bring or buy some. Please note that cellular service can be spotty. Try using a VOIP or FaceTime audio to make calls. Be sure to connect to the Wifi as soon as you arrive. There is a book in the kitchen (Once Upon a Time) that has helpful information, like the Wifi password. Please enjoy some complimentary coffee, tea or hot cocoa during your stay, just please be courteous to the next guest. Anything you want to add to these drinks, please be sure to bring them with you, but there may be some essentials stocked in the kitchen. Most reservations will require a five night minimum stay. Guest staying longer than 4 weeks will need to arrange for a cleaning by our housekeeper to freshen up the home.
