Collieston is a former fishing village that provides dramatic views all year round and there are plenty of walks in the area. There are many golf courses within a 10-mile drive, including Cruden Bay Golf Club and the Trump International links course. A visit to the neighbouring village of Newburgh to see the seals is a must, as is a tour around the famous BrewDog Brewery located in Ellon.
