Artiñano Etxea, known in Orozko as “the palace,” is a unique place at the foot of Gorbea, just 20 minutes from Bilbao. Its architecture and its bourgeois-industrial past are part of the house's identity, now converted into a quiet and cozy space to enjoy as a group. Perfect for families, friends, or work teams looking for nature, space, and a special base from which to discover the Basque Country. The space Artiñano Etxea is known by the elders of the town as “the palace”. Its architectural features and its bourgeois-industrial past give it its name, although this farmhouse has now become a very special rustic accommodation in the Orozko Valley, on the slopes of the Gorbea Natural Park. Artiñano Etxea has 7 double bedrooms, spacious living rooms with a large window, a full kitchen, an old entrance door, a swimming pool and a barbecue, as well as some unique areas, such as an old library that preserves part of the house's history. The house is surrounded by a garden with tall trees and abundant vegetation, designed in 1914 by an English landscaper, creating a very intimate and pleasant space to enjoy your stay. The owners live on the third floor of the building with our cat. We are available for anything that may come up during the stay, but we are very discreet and fully respect the privacy of our guests. Zubiaur, the center of Orozko, is a ten-minute walk away, with bars, pintxos, walks and the museum. For those who want to explore the mountain, trails depart from here to the Cruz del Gorbea, the Ojo de Atxulaur, Kikirinauxis or the Supelaur Cave. Bilbao is only 20 minutes away by car, which makes Artiñano a good base for exploring the Basque Country, combining the tranquility of the rural surroundings with the possibility of getting close to the city, the coast, and other places in the Basque Country. The owners live on the third floor, with access via an interior staircase, and we respect the privacy of the guests. The house is in a rural and quiet setting, so we ask that the peace and quiet of the surroundings be respected. Orozko is about a 10-minute walk away, but a car is recommended to get around the area and explore the Basque Country. The swimming pool is available only during summer season. The barbecue and garden are for guest use, and charcoal is not included. We can help you arrange services, activities, routes, guides, or a private chef if you're interested. There are two cats that live with us, although they don't share the guest areas, so there's no problem with allergies or the like.
