Bluffton's Historic Guest House

LOCATION! Charming cabin built c. 1910 with antiques and vintage decor provides in miniature all you need for a quiet getaway weekend with superb viewing & swimming from the dock or a month of blissful exploration of the Lowcountry. Walk to Old Town galleries, shops, 21 restaurants & festivals mixed with Farmer's Market on Thursdays 1-6 PM within one mile. Local seafood to cook available only four blocks away. The space The guest house is completely paneled in heart pine bead board and has: wall to wall carpeting in the bedrooms and hardwood in the living areas, HVAC and ceiling fans: sitting/dining room, 2 bedrooms (1 Queen bed in one room and a double in the other) maximum sleeps 4; many antiques and contemporary American craft pieces. One bath (claw foot tub/shower); fully equipped kitchen. Large front porch has ceiling fans, swing & rocking chairs looking over a mature camellia garden and peaceful fountain. Flat screen TV with remote, cable, guest Mesh Wi-Fi; internet password posted on bulletin board. Parking for 2 cars adjacent to cottage. Walk to the dock and hang out to see dolphins, herons, ospreys, and SUNSET VIEWS! This is a restored historic c. 1910 boarding house behind the Pritchard House, c. 1890 facing the May River, a tidal estuary. I have a Town of Bluffton Business License (#015090-2017) and Permit (#STR21-00033). The guest house is handicap accessible and LGBT friendly. Enjoy a sundowner on the dock and watch dolphin teaching their pups to fish, Jacques Cousteau loved it here. On the May River, a salt water estuary, you can bring your own kayaks, small sailboats or at least a bathing suit to swim from the dock. There's so much to do, you'll want to stay longer! Pack & Play crib and booster seat available for little kids. Walk to Bluffton's lively Calhoun street 3 blocks away, and see it in action at Art nights and festivals, and don't miss the Thursday Farmer's Market! The local produce, seafood, meals, and wine are amazing. Music is provided free as is People Watching! See Bluffton from the water: boating tours by kayak or motor boat and fishing excursions easily arranged. Two blocks walking to Cole-Heyward House Museum where tours are $5/person or $15 for a complete tour of the historic district, charming shops, galleries and restaurants. Golf at any on of 12 courses in Bluffton Township. Great biking area (flat Lowcountry) with miles of paths. Day trips to Hilton Head Island beaches/family attractions and Savannah, GA night life and Historic District tours, museums etc. 20-40 minutes by car. The only historic building in Old Towne Bluffton available for short term rental, unique and adorable! Guest access Guests have access to the entire garden, the attached front porch, and dock for swimming or watching sunsets and relaxing. Tours of Old Town by golf cart or bicycle can be arranged. River tours are available in Old Town as well. Other things to note The guest house is a restored cabin so can be chilly in the winter...bring layers for comfort in all seasons. However, there is a HVAC unit that keeps it toasty warm in winter plus I provide small electric heaters if you need them. The May River is a tidal inlet with a seven to ten foot rise and fall approximately every 12 hours; this causes water to move very fast so swimmers BE AWARE. Life jackets are strongly recommended for adults and mandatory for children under 12. Please bring your own life jackets for proper fit. My permit # is STR21-00033
