As the region is built on thermal springs, there is an abundance of spas and water parks, including Tatralandia - the Alton Towers of water adventures - a 30 minute drive away. Hotel Permon, 15 minutes drive, has a large and particularly luxurious spa and swimming pool. Only a few minutes walk are the quaint village of Pribylina and the Open Air Museum, both well worth a visit. The Orensnica restaurant, offering traditional Slovakian fayre is just over a mile away on one of the many trails through the pine forests leading up the mountains.
