Open concept 2/1 house in the commercial/residential area of Downtown Morganton. You are minutes from Food Matters grocery, Bigfoot indoor rock climbing gym, shopping, food, and breweries. You have access to the entire separate upper level of my home with 2 large bedrooms, living/dining room, patio, kitchen and shower/tub bathroom. We do allow 2 pets by request only, for an additional $50 fee. Fee will be requested prior to check in. This space is casual and perfect for the laid back adventurer. We supply a starter pack of amenities including, linens, towels, wash cloths, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels, utensils, pots and pans. Simple check-in with keypad through your private entry, mudroom in the carport. The listing is complete with 2 bedroom, (1K/1Q ) 1 shower/tub bathroom in the upper level of my home. There is an additional queen air mattress by request if needed for the 5th bestie. Guests have their own private entry thru the mud room in the carport. Entire private first level of home, front patio and front yard access. Happy to host you for your stay in Downtown Morganton. This is my residence, I reside in the suite downstairs with my golden retriever Haywood when we’re not traveling on an adventure. Texts & messages are welcome and preferred for fastest responses. My interaction with guests is as needed but available in the case the house needs something or questions during your stay. My goal is to provide a welcoming, casual and comfortable place to stay for your visit. The driveway and carport are reserved for the owner use only. You might see my vehicle(s) parked there from time to time, a black Chevy Truck and/or black Volvo. The neighborhood is perfect for an evening walk around downtown...take in a movie, grab a coffee or pint of your favorite brew. Neighborhood is safe, walkable, close to small businesses as the commercial district adjoins up to our neighborhood , grocery, laundry mat, pharmacy, & banking. Centrally located, 2 minutes from market style grocery store, 5 minutes from downtown restaurants, breweries, bakeries, retail, salon and spas. Lake James- 20 min drive to the cleanest man made lake on the east coast. Linville Gorge- 30 min drive Asheville - 1 hour drive west along I-40. The drive offers beautiful views of the mountain & farmland landscapes famous in WNC. Along the way you can take in a couple of great hot spots for art, food and outdoor adventures in Marion and Black Mountain before crossing into Asheville. Blowing Rock/ Boone - 45 Minute ride up the mountain via Hwy 321. Great dining and shopping for a wonderful day trip. Hiking- Amazing 360 degree views. Hawksbill Mountain Trail is a 2.1 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Newland, North Carolina that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from May until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail. South Mountains State Park In one of the state’s most rugged areas, South Mountains State Park features elevations to 3,000 feet, an 80-foot waterfall, mountain streams and more than 40 miles of trails for hikers, equestrians and mountain bikers. A true backcountry experience is offered at 20 backpacking campsites at six locations. Equestrian camping is available with trailer parking and barn to complement 33 miles of bridle trails. Mountain bikers enjoy a 17-mile loop. Drive-to campsites sit beside the Jacob Fork River, with the river and its tributaries offering miles of trout fishing. There are two picnic areas and a picnic shelter for groups. A visitor center offers museum-quality exhibits on the cultural and natural history of the South Mountains. •There is great WiFi and a smart TV YoutubeTv for streaming and local shows.
