Alice Bay. a saltwater beach stay

A NW contemporary place on the south shore of Samish Island. Plenty of space to unpack and pack in some local life with all the Salish Sea has to offer. The space A bed and breakfast since 1984, redefined as a vacation stay on Samish Island. Tucked on the south shore, our place looks onto peaceful Alice Bay, saltwater tidal flats and the fields of the Skagit Valley. Perched on low bank waterfront, guests observe many species of waterfowl and raptors, including Bald Eagles, hawks and falcons. You'll stay in a contemporary place that is uncluttered, spacious and opens wide to the natural beauty of the northwest. A breezeway separates the guest quarters from the main house, establishing a sense of space. The summer kitchen is on the ground floor warmed by the southern exposure. A full glass wall offers a place to watch the ebb and flow of the tide. Just above the kitchen, you will stay in a spacious sleeping room. Classic poang chairs offer a seat to read. The queen size bed is fit with crisp high quality cottons to rest well. Step across the hall and freshen up in a private washroom stocked with soaps and stacked with towels. On high tides the pier is a good spot to get your feet wet or take a saltwater swim. Guests are welcome to launch their own kayaks from the dock to explore the shorelines where the Samish River meets the bay and continues west to the San Juan Islands. Rural roads connect you to the small town of Edison with fine art galleries, local bakeries and some of the best dining in the northwest. All the while, Washington's scenic Chuckanut Drive offers coastal views and pristine hiking trails. Guest access A breezeway separates the guestquarters from the main house. The summer kitchen, spacious sleeping room and private washroom are for guests. A stairwell in the breezeway leads to the sleeping room and adjacent bath. The guest quarters are directly on a saltwater tidal bay, a grassy lawn and stone patio are set on a lowbank with a trail to the beach. Plenty of space to unpack and watch the ebb and flow of the tide. Other things to note Alice Bay has a 'no pet' policy.
