One corner is occupied by a well-equipped modern kitchen. An archway leads into the bedroom, with comfortable double bed and en-suite shower room. The accommodation is all on one level and offers everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Facilities include a fully equipped kitchen, TV, DVD player, Bluetooth radio/speakers, wifi, EV charging (small charge), secure cycle storage, maps and brochures. A well-behaved pet dog is welcome. Set in the conservation village of Chelmorton, 6 miles from Buxton and 8 miles from Bakewell, there are walks from the door and beautiful countryside to explore in every direction, plus a traditional village pub The Church Inn (which welcomes dogs) serving good food just a 5 minute walk. The historic houses of Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, Sudbury Hall, Kedleston Hall and Lyme Park are easy to reach as is the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. In the summer lots of festivals and events take place - including the Eroica Britannia vintage cycle festival, Chatsworth Horse Trials in May, RHS Chatsworth Flower show in June, the Country Fair in September and well dressings from May to September. Bakewell Farmers Market (8miles) is the last Saturday of every month and is the second largest in the country. Buxton's beautiful little Opera House is just 6 miles away and offers year-round entertainment plus the acclaimed Buxton Festival in the summer. Manchester, Sheffield and Derby are less than an hour away. There are endless opportunities for walking and cycling. Less than a mile from Swallow Barn are the Monsal Trail and the High Peak/Tissington Trail, old railway lines converted into wonderful traffic-free routes perfect for cycling and walking.
