This house was built 100 years ago and has been renovated to preserve its original charm. The house has been designed with old furniture and modern electronics included floor heating system. We welcome you and support your travel in Kyoto. *This Shimoza-an is the lower unit of a two-story machiya townhouse. Although the second floor unit may be occupied by other guests, both units are private and have separate entrances. Booking both Shimoza-an and Kamiza-an accommodates up to 10 guests. The space There is a small garden where you can spend time enjoying the natural scenery. The surroundings are very quiet and you can fully enjoy the private space. You can spend comfortably with your family and friends as if you were at home, both long-term and short-term. Why don't you stay in Kyoto while enjoying the local atmosphere? If you need a rice cooker, please let us know in advance. Guest access ・Check in time is between 4 PM and 8 PM. ※If you will arrive later than 8 pm, please message and tell us in advance. In that case, we will ask you to do self-check in and visit you next day to finish check in procedure. Leaving luggage before check in time (after 11:30 am) is available, please feel free to ask us if you need it. We will wait for you at the house. Other things to note ※ When you check in, please pay accommodation tax of Kyoto government. This accommodation tax is not included in rental cost of the house. Please pay by cash. The tax fee is depends on how much you paid for your rental cost. If your rental cost is under 20,000 JPY per person per night, the tax is 400 JPY per person per night. (EX) If you are 3 people and you stay 3 nights, the accommodation tax will be 400 JPY × 3 people × 3 nights = 3,600 JPY If your rental cost is 20,000 JPY to 49,999 JPY per person per night, the tax is 1,000 JPY per person per night. (EX) If you are 2 people and you stay 2 nights, the accommodation tax will be 1,000 JPY × 2 people × 2 nights = 4,000 JPY If your rental cost is 50,000 JPY to 99,999 JPY per person per night, the tax is 4,000 JPY per person per night. (EX) If you are 2 people and you stay 2 nights, the accommodation tax will be 4,000 JPY × 2 people × 2 nights = 16,000 JPY ※Please be quiet after 10 PM and early morning. ※Please do not hold a noisy party at the house. ※Please let us know the correct number of people in your party. If the number of people is different from the number you actually book with, we will charge you extra. Persons not registered for accommodation must refrain from staying overnight in the room. ※No smoking inside of the house, outside of the house and the garden. ※When you check in, please fill in a registration form and we will scan your passport. The Japanese Government is requiring “foreign nationals who do not possess an address in Japan” to provide their ＊nationality and ＊passport number in addition to their ＊name, ＊address, and ＊occupation, etc. and produce and make a copy of their passport upon checking in at lodgings. Your understanding and cooperation is appreciated. ※Because the walls of the townhouse are thin, the footsteps and voices of guests on the second floor can be easily heard. Please be quiet in the early morning and after 10pm. The first and second floors are rented out separately.
