Cabin in Charlotte
Description
The cottage boasts amazing views of the Adirondacks, Split Rock and Lake Champlain. Three bedrooms accommodate up to 6 guests. Water access, a great room with stone fireplace and a wrap around porch provides a beautiful setting. Seasonal: May-Oct. The space One of the things you may enjoy most about being at the cottage is appreciating Lake Champlain. The view of Split Rock, the New York Shoreline and Garden Island (from the front bluff and the main porch) is breathtaking, swinging in the hammock for an afternoon nap while enjoying the sailboats-the epitome of relaxation, and swimming from “the rocks”- sheer joy. We hope you fall in love with this body of water as our family has. We invite our guests to use the public lake access that neighbors the cottage. When you walk out of our parking lot, take a right turn onto North Shore Road and walk just a few steps to the first opening on the right hand side. After a short walk down the dirt path, you will find yourself on a rocky beach. Enjoy! You are welcome to bring kayaks, canoes, inner tubes or other floatation devices with you but we would encourage you to bring them back to the parking area or main cottage at the conclusion of each use. Storms can pick up very quickly at Crooked Path and boats, docks and other loose items have disappeared during some of our most historic storms. The cottage does not have boat dock, mooring or buoy available for guest use. If you have a desire to make use of your speed or sailboat while at Crooked Path you will need to bring the boat with you on a trailer and make use of one of the local marinas or lake access points. There are several within a ten minute drive. Although several sites exist in the area, cliff jumping is strictly prohibited at Crooked Path. Be safe and have fun! Guest access Guests will have full access to the entire first floor of the cabin as well as the surrounding yard and wraparound porch. The second floor (the attic) is reserved for use as a storage space so we encourage guests to avoid it unless they need to open the upstairs window to let a cool breeze in. Other things to note Pets- If you have spoken with Jennifer and Kimberly about a much loved pet that you would like to have with you during your stay and they have approved the presence of your pet at the cottage please note the following: We expect that all pets will be kept in the control of their owners while inside and outside of the cottage. We expect that guests will clean up all pet waste from the immediate premises and while out on walks on Thompson’s Point. We ask that guests do their best to clean up excessive pet hair inside the cabin prior to departure so our cleaning team's job remains manageable. Many a four legged friend have enjoyed hours of swim time on the rocks, but if your dog is “overly enthusiastic” about greeting unknown people, we would ask that you wait to let him or her swim until a time when you are alone at the water’s edge.
