The Resort is located within the medieval village of Vicopisano, a Tuscan jewel where the genius of Florentine architect Filippo Brunelleschi has built the Rocca del Castello that dominates the picturesque village. Apartment Il Fienile Il Fienile owes its name to its historic function, that of being in everything and throughout the ancient barn of the Maniero for the drying and storage of the forage. The restoration of the property has left the division into two levels intact as it was in the medieval period: on the ground floor we find a kitchen, dining area and living room with a historic collection of copper objects where there is a large and bright arch window made of cypress that overlooks the Tuscan garden. Upstairs, used today as the two-bedroom, two-bath, two-bedroom, two-bath, old wooden balcony typical of Tuscan barns is clearly visible from which the hay was descended with a wooden staircase. Today the old rural wooden staircase has been replaced by an original stone and solid wood staircase, and the ancient utensils stand out on the ceiling. The Forno is a one-of-a-kind environment that we strongly wanted to maintain in its original form: in the Middle Ages the real oven, which still measures 3 meters by 3 meters, was at the service of the entire village for the production of bread. Today we wanted to pay homage to them by making it the environment reserved for our Tuscan Cooking Courses, not to mention poolside aperitifs, wine&food tastings and weekly themed dinners.
