The historic towns of Rhinebeck, Stoneridge, Woodstock, Rosendale, New Paltz, and Red Hook are all within a 20 minute drive as is Bard College and the many activities such as hiking, skiing, rock climbing, kayaking, antiquing and dining. This listing is for the master suite of the home. It is quietly grand, providing a sense of seclusion with it's views over the Catskill mountains (in the winter when the trees aren't obscuring the range!) and beautiful trees lining the property. See which way the breeze is blowing by the way the pretty brass rooster gleaming in the morning sun atop our old fashioned garage turns. Spacious with high ceilings, and re-painted in its serene original color of duck egg blue, you will relax in the uber comfy queen sized bed with beautiful antique French linen sheets. The ensuite bathroom is in its original 1920's Art Deco incarnation including the stunning large basin and mirror set. There is a comfortable daybed/single bed with organic latex mattress for a comfy place to sit and read, or for an extra person to sleep. Guest access You are welcome to relax throughout the first floor parlor, sitting room and dining room, or on the large porches to enjoy your morning coffee or soak up a sunset over the catskill mountain range. We have a pool for those that enjoy swimming in the warm season. We serve organic coffee and teas in the dining room every morning that some guests enjoy on the porches in fine weather. We don't share access to the kitchen, however tea and coffee making facilities are available in the dining room throughout the day. During your stay We will welcome you and show you around and make sure you are comfortable and know how to contact us for help or information. After that we give your privacy to relax and enjoy the space. We have separate living quarters on the third floor with our own stairwell so you are ensured privacy and peace. Other things to note This is a historic home, with creaky floors, and sticking doors (if the rain should really pour). If you prefer modern and new, our home is not the place for you. For those that prize things made by hand, kept original (as much as we can), I'm sure you'll find there's comfort here, in warm wood, and welcome cheer. As much as we love children we are not set up for them, so 18+ guests only thanks. We have separate living quarters so that your privacy is maintained. Our small dog is contained so that guests won't be disturbed or need to worry about allergies.
