This is a beautiful, peaceful 2 bedroom home that will make a wonderful vacation destination for you, your family, and even your pets. Relax by the fireplace, soak in the hot tub and watch the ocean. You're steps from Fort Bragg's best beach and paved bike path. If you enjoy privacy and quick beach access, then Quail Crossing awaits you! Everything you need is waiting for you including WiFi, 3 cable TVs, deer in the backyard, a fully equipped kitchen and a hot tub to finish every day. Welcome! The space You'll love the kitchen which is fully appointed with blender, crock pot, food processor and all the amenities. The dining area looks out into trees in one direction and lawn and garden in the other. Ping pong and croquet are both available as well as a BBQ on the deck. There are three TVs to accommodate different viewing preferences as well as CD, DVD, and WiFi capabilities. The master bedroom has a California King bed and sliding glass door out to the deck and hot tub. If you leave it open you'll be lulled by the sound of the sea all night. It has its own bathroom with double sinks and a shower. You can wake up to deer outside on the lawn and a wall of nasturtiums blooming along the deck. The guest bedroom has a queen bed, stacks of games. The bathroom with shower and tub is directly across the hall. The couch folds out to make a queen bed by the fire. Out in the garage you'll find a ping pong table, washer/dryer, kites and croquet. The spacious yard is private enough for sunbathing and large enough for all kinds of games with room to run for kids and pets. There is a small seasonal creek running through the back yard and a discovery trail that leads you up a sand dune to an expansive view of the coastline. Guest access The crown jewel of Quail Crossing is its proximity to this incredible 10-mile stretch of seashore parkland. This property offers protection from the strong offshore winds as well as significant privacy not possible for the beachfront rentals. Pass by just 3 homes to arrive at the best beach in all of Mendocino County. If you head north, in just a short distance you’ll come to the northern end of the “Haul Road”, a name which refers to the previous function this paved pathway used to serve in getting logs to the Fort Bragg mill. You’ll love the remote feel of this untrammeled seashore wilderness, so isolated it is one of the few remaining nesting sites for the endangered snowy plover. It is insulated from the highway and all residences by a buffer zone of nearly a mile of dunes. The tides daily wipe away all traces of humanity while leaving a fresh assortment of treasures. You can walk for miles toward Ten Mile River leaving the only footprints in the sand, just you, the ocean, the birds and that day’s gifts from the sea. Heading south, the haul road affords access by foot, bicycle or any other non-motorized vehicle. You’ll pass through MacKerricher campground, by Lake Cleone, several sea lion haul-outs, Virgin Creek where the local surfers hang out, over the Pudding Creek Bridge and finally to Fort Bragg itself. This path will take you along bluffs studded with wildflowers above cove after cove of intimate shoreline. We love how this pathway allows us to ride our bikes to breakfast and the galleries. Other things to note You most likely will see numerous visits from our local deer population in the front or back yard. Also, the house is appropriately often called Quail Crossing!
