Our stunning, private & secluded luxury Glamping Site is perched on the banks of the beautiful Takou River. Designed exclusively for a couple with peace & seclusion guaranteed, it's the perfect escape. Experience the beauty of New Zealand while Glamping in style! The space Our unique luxury Glamping site is completely hidden from view, and set on a peaceful bend of the unspoilt Takou River, surrounded by our 150 acre certified organic farm, just a short drive to Kerikeri and the Bay of Islands. No sharing with other Glampers, no sleeping bags to unpack, no tent to pitch or long drop to negotiate...this is Glamping in style! Every little detail has been thought of from your luxurious super king bed, cosy linens, vintage furnishings, view across the river to the sun rise, private jetty and canoe, and romantic outdoor bath perched in a secluded and magical spot overlooking the river. Our site includes your own private and cosy kitchen and bathroom cabin, with everything you need for a luxurious experience, including hot shower, wonderful old-fashioned flush toilet, and fully equipped kitchen with solar lighting and fridge, gas hot water and oven as well as large bbq on the deck. The perfect space to relax, unwind, reset and reconnect! Guest access In addition to your own romantic secluded riverfront Glamping Site and private alfresco foot bath on the riverbank overlooking the river, guests have access to all the amenities at Takou River including our beautiful 5 acre sub-tropical gardens to wander and explore; the tranquil Takou River to swim, fish, paddle and discover; your private jetty and canoes as well as our private boathouse with kayaks, canoes and fishing rods to borrow at your leisure; our 150 acre organic farm with walks along the river, through pastures and native bush to secluded swimming and picnic spots, glow worms and last but not least, the deserted sandy beaches a short paddle downstream at Takou Bay. The tariff includes free Starlink WiFi which is available in the Guest Office (note the site is WIFI Free :-), beautiful linen, fresh flowers, books and magazines, hand made toiletries, gas for the bbq, and free use of the kayaks, canoes and fishing rods. Takou River Glamping is private and sole occupancy and an evening in our separate Riverside Hot Tub can be booked by prior arrangement (Price on Application). Other things to note Check our dates as we operate our Glamping site throughout the summer months, from early spring to late autumn, depending on the weather! Our site is free from smoking, vaping, WIFI and Mobile Coverage. You can pick up free WIFI at our Guest Office, 5 minutes drive away. Mobile coverage is available 1-2km back up the road. Access is over our farm track. Most vehicles are absolutely fine but we don't recommend low slung cars ;-) If access is a problem, just let us know in advance. We have a 2 night minimum stay apart from Christmas and New Year when a 6-7 night minimum applies.
