Come stay with us at the historic 1860 Joslyn House Bed & Breakfast - a "Painted Lady" Victorian recognized as the oldest house in the Columbia Gorge. Vintage-style guest rooms retain their historic charm. The B&B is just a stone’s throw from Hood River and is nestled at the base of the beautiful White Salmon ridge. Owners live on the property and have recently completed extensive system, structural, and living area renovations, including the kitchen, modern bathrooms, and common spaces. The space The Rooms Private rooms are located up one flight of stairs on the 2nd floor. All rooms feature comfortable beds with new mattresses, mini-fridge, microwave, HDTV, closet and/or armoire, and dresser. Guests have access to two full shared bathrooms including showers and tub on the second and third levels, just down the hall from each room, and two half-baths on the main level. This listing is for the "Blue Room." Bed & Breakfast Breakfast is included for all guests, and served from 8:30-10am in the Kitchen on the main level. Guests also have access to complimentary coffee & tea during their stay. Guest access Use of living (fireplace) room, guest baths (4), off-street parking, gardens and walking distance to local restaurants. Other things to note Noise The property is located on the Lewis & Clark Highway (WA-14) and nearby rail line, so guests may experience some noise. Complimentary ear plugs are available in the Foyer. Current Renovations Please note this property is currently undergoing renovations. Guests will be notified of any severe construction impacts or noise from this work. Explanation of House Rules A Cocker Spaniel currently lives on the property, so we are not able to accommodate other pets. The dog is kept out of common areas but guests with allergies may be sensitive to her presence. We ask that guests remove their shoes before entering to preserve a clean environment in the living area. We do not allow the burning of any candles or other material in the house so as not to bother others. Due to the historic nature and climate control of the house we also ask that you not to attempt to open any windows except in an emergency. Smoking and vaping are permitted outdoors in the designated area.
