Just 1 hour from Yellowstone and Teton National Parks ... our small, 1920's, "budget-friendly" apartment is ready for you! This apartment is older and outdated but still a great place for its location, price, and amenities. The Snake River and free Sandbar River Park is just a minute walk away. We provide kayaks, beach towels, and beach toys for our guests to use down at the river beach. Great for 2-4 guests - could fit up to 6 if you cram in and use the air mattress. This is an older home and as expected there are various cosmetic issues that come with an older home like this. We host this home as a budget home for guests who would like to save money and still have access to awesome outdoor amenities. The use of our kayaks is weather-pending. The river may be unsafe for kayaks in May and June due to high and fast water! Our charming 1920's apartment is old but pretty cool! You'll have 800 square feet of living space all of which have all been decorated to get you in the mood for your beach, river, and national park experience. Even better the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park is just an hour away. Teton National Park is an hour and a half away! The bedroom has been named "The River Room." It has a comfortable queen size bed with great decorations that will remind you of the river. The room is quiet and in the morning you'll have great views of our 100 ft pine trees. The living room, also known as "The National Parks Room" has been decorated to remind you of Yellowstone and Teton National Parks, both of which are about an hour from our home. In this room, we also have two full-size futons which can be easily converted to beds. Sheets, mattress cover, and pillows for these sofa beds are located in the closet in the bedroom. There is also a desk and wireless internet for those needing to use their laptops during their stay. Our kitchen and bathroom are the "Beach Rooms" and will remind you of the fun you had at our Idaho beach. The kitchen is fully equipped with a table, refrigerator, microwave, and oven for you to use. We also have dishes, pots, pans, and silverware if you need them. There is also a mini washer and dryer in the bathroom that can be used to do small loads of laundry. Outside under our huge tree, we have a picnic table and hammock that guests can use. There is also a nice deck with chairs and a grill. Check in is at 4pm in which you'll be able to access the entire apartment and use our beach toys down at the beach. There is no additional cost to go to the beach, slide on the water slide, or dive off the diving board, however, the park does close at 10pm! We are not always able to accommodate early check in. Please contact us ahead of time to see if early check in is possible. Grandma Lisa and Grandpa Cal live in the apartment next door. They are super fun to be around and will probably come over and welcome you. If you need anything or want to know more about the area they would love to talk with you. They can give you more info about the river, kayaking tips, sandcastle building tips, or directions to places around town. Stephan and Skye are Grandma Lisa's son and daughter-in-law. They help out with setting up and running the Airbnb appointments. They can help out as well if you have questions. We are in a great location and quiet neighborhood! We are a 1 hour 20 minute drive to Jackson Hole Wyoming We are a 1 hour 30 minute drive to Teton National Park (South Entrance) The "beach," known to locals as the SandBar, is a one minute walk from our home. This is a public beach located along the Henry's Fork river and has a designated area for people to swim and play. There is also a water slide and a diving board that allow you to plunge right into the river if you dare! It's perfect for young and old alike. There are no life guards on duty so visitors should swim at their own risk and young children should be supervised at all times. Be aware the park/beach may close due to bad weather or dangerous water conditions which often occurs in May and sometimes June. We do have an alternate property that we can have you drive to get a kayak experience if the sandbar park is closed. In the apartment we have lots of beach toys you can play with including beach chairs, water blasters, sand castle equipment, goggles, small fish catching nets, balls, beach towels, and even life jackets. At the beach, there are also picnic tables and a small park you can spend time at. If you do use our beach toys please make sure to bring them back, wash them off with the hose on the side of the house, and then leave them on the porch to dry! For those of you not wanting to get wet at the beach the main river park is just a minute walk from our house as well. There you will find neat places to explore, take pictures by the falls, and simply enjoy the river. We have 4 kayaks, two for adults and two for kids (up to 130 pounds), that you can use down at the beach to explore, splash, or visit the nearby river island. HOWEVER, we do require advanced notice if you want to use the kayaks. So make sure to message us to let us know what day/time you'd like to use them so we can get them out and ready for you. Please note there may be days where weather or the water level may not allow the kayaks to be used (water level is often too high in early to mid-May causing the park/beach to be closed.) Life jackets are required if you use the kayaks and can be found in the bathroom closet. Kayaks may only be used at the local sand bar/river! We have wheels you can use to help you roll them to the river. We love Yellowstone and Teton National Parks.
